Actually, Peach in SMB3 isn't kidnapped until after you clear World 7. During most of the game, she remains safe in the Mushroom Kingdom's castle and sends powerups to Mario and Luigi, whom she sent to the troubled kingdoms as envoys

A lot of roles for Peach in the RPG games were left in the dark In paper mario she's responsible for locating the first 5 star spirits and sometimes have Twink relay them to Mario. She can also collect items and badges, and give them to Mario via a special treasure chest. Finally at the final battle she made a wish to the spirits to increase their power, which allows them to match Bowser's strength... Eh I say she's pretty darn useful despite being kidnapped. In Super Paper Mario she's one of the heroes in the game, and plays quite a huge role as a result - including having to be the active hero to enter Francis's room!

In 3D World, I would like to argue ur opinion that “Rosalina > Peach”. So while Rosalina’s spin is good for combat, and for some maneuvering, as soon as you get a power up, she becomes the worst character in the game, as she loses her ability to double jump. While on the other hand, peach can ALWAYS float, no matter the power up. Same speed, same jump height, but peach has more use cases. Personally speaking, Peach>>>>>>>>>> Rosalina

NSMB2 is the most useless imo, after you defeat a koopaling, theres another koopaling blocking her from Mario, and she could just kick or jump over the Koopa. Instead she just stands there hopelessly.

I debatably think peach is beter than rosalina because in the speedrun, she can cancel her cat pounce before she lands (letting go of the attack button) and conservative the soeed of her pounce momentum into her float.

I honestly really like peach when she’s not useless. In most mario fames she’s really boring but whenever she plays a more active role I really like her. The best examples of this are the early Paper Mario games, with her being playable in Super and TTYD and 64, despite being kidnapped, made active effort to help Mario from within where she could go. I love that characterisation far more then what she usually gets, and it doesn’t even feel out of character for how she usually acts. That’s probably why Movie peach worked for me. It was a bit of an over correction and she doesn’t have her daintiness there which I feel characterises her in every other thing she’s in, but I still enjoyed her in that film. I guess what I’m saying is thag I just want more from her instead of _just_ being the damsel in distress, and I like the games that do that.

Include Paper Mario and we have some more Elite and Pretty Helpful. She's sneaking around getting Mario precious info in the first two games. This is while she's kidnapped. At least Pretty Helpful. Mario would have been lost without her info. But she does get possessed by the final boss in the second game, dunno if that'd bump her down any. Super Paper Mario... Playable. Elite. Sticker Star... Yeah, she spends the whole game kidnapped and can't/doesn't do a thing. Worthless. Color Splash, don't know enough about that game to say. Origami King... She's been turned into an origami servant of the big bad... So, worse than Worthless?

Months after the release of the movie and having time to sit through it I got the feeling that there was something wrong or disturbing to me about Peach and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. What I get annoyed is the usual trend of today that women are capable and awesome just for being. Hear me out. I get the movie tries to explain stuff and why Peach is so capable, but it makes no sense if you really think about it. Her knowing how to use power ups make sense, but knowing Kung fu and being a kicker? Why would she? To defend the Toads? I dont know why Toads would know someting like kung fu to teach her. Now, you can still be a great leader and strong without having to know kung fu. What I also got annoyed is that they changed her character a lot. Now in some parts it makes sense like you cant always have a cute princess for every scene, but in my taste they made her too agresive and too cocky, which also reminds me of modern day potrayel of women. And I like Peach in the games a lot, there are some instances where the movie one reminds me of her but mostly she feels too agresive as to show girls today that they can be as badass. This all sums up that in the end in my opinion they made a less interesiting character. I wanna know Peach and her struggles. It would have been smarter to build her up as her own heroe in the coming movies, instead of being a super hero from the get go. Because then there is no way to grow for that character. We had growth with Mario and Luigi, why cant we have it with her? People say why would Mario save a princess he never met, but they could have changed that. They could have changed so that she is from Brooklyn and already knows Mario, is his date or sometihng and she supports him like Luigi, she gets kidnapped and Mario has to rescue her. It would have been the same movie with a more interesting Peach. She would have to get stronger and fight her way through Bowser. ANd then becoming the princess that we know. I like to know your opinion. I might be wrong and maybe in the next movies they really build her up as a good character that resembles more the one from the games. I hope so. But for the moment I am a bit cautiously optimistic. I have been fooled before(force awakens-last jedi).

Peach in Super Paper Mario is extremely useful, using her parasol to defend herself from enemies when you duck down and using Cudge to hammer the enemies, using her parasol to float to further away places etc.
