I'm currently ranking luxury lipsticks from worst to first. This is part one of 3 videos. I really like the Hermés. It's not my tippy top favorite, but after the first 3 in this video, I really like these lipsticks. I haven't paid for an Estee Lauder lipstick in years. I use the ones that come in the holiday blockbuster, but it's a lovely formula.

Love this series! A lot of Chanel lipsticks turn that hot pink color on me- even the colors that are supposed to be more nude/peach. I used to have EL Rebellious Rose in the holiday packaging but ended up giving it to my mom because every time I wore it I thought it made me look just like her lol. And then I decided to I wanted to try it again and they had reformulated. The shade is different now and I haven’t seen enough in person to try it again. I’m excited to see the next videos!

Somehow I equate Estee Lauder and Lancome lipsticks with my mom too. 🤣 I love my mom, but I don't want to look like my 90s memories of my mom. I have 3 Chanel lipsticks, and none of them turn different colors on me. I'd be so disappointed if that happened at the Chanel price point. Thanks for making time to watch today b

❤💋💄 ohhh that Hermes red lip!! It looks really pretty on you!! Actually the Hermes Shiny formula has 14 shades on their website. They used to have more but they have been discontinuing shades such as Rose Mexique & Rose Zinzolin recently 😞 I have Rose Zinzolin & the limited edition Prunoir that I wore all last fall 💜 I also have a Byredo lip in Vieux Rose... (Nordstrom is a great place to order from as they have a few exclusive shades to them)

What a great series - I know everything to avoid and what to go find! I have to say I found it pretty funny to talk about eating burgers while wearing this luxury lipsticks. I feel like if I'm wearing a $75 Hermes lipstick, I do not want to be going out for a burger but rather a filet mignon!

Lipstick is my everyday luxury. I wear expensive ones even on the days I'm sick I'm bed. It's like my armour, my medicine, I always feel better in a lipstick, and especially a boujie lipstick when I'm feeling ill. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks so much for watching. With all the luxury lipsticks I have, if I don't wear them everyday, it'll be a waste.

Thats so interesting and helpful, thank you ! Looking forward to the next parts. Edited to add : I really do not like Hermes packages, it just doesnt scream lux or expensive to me, just doesnt look that price worthy visually. I have some Kiko Milano lipsticks that feel weighty and look way more expensive then Hermes. But I guess its personal preference as far as aesthetics. Im very sensitive to beauty and this package design is not it for me.

Thanks for watching. I only have one Kiko Milano lipstick, and although I love the formula, I must have a different type than you do. I don't feel like the packaging on my lipstick is terribly luxe. It's so much nicer than most of my affordable lipstick packaging, but it's not giving luxury. 🤷‍♀️ Let me know what Kiko formula you're using. I'm curious!

Did you try the VB lipliner? ( I have 1 nude and one more muted pink shade and I love the formula so much.) I am curious about the darker shades in this line. I would be really interested in a video about your all your red lipliners and why you love them or not.

I haven't tried any of the VBB lip liners. I'm still slowly working my way through the entire line of products. I'll make sure to add your lip liner video suggestion to possible video ideas.

I love lipsticks but I do not like matte lipsticks but still ..... I watched right through your matte lipstick video !!! I guess I adore all lipsticks even if there are a kind I do not use! lol My favourite are satin/cream so looking forward to this !!! Yum .

I really like the Hermes lipstick experience. It wears so well, looks amazing, and I LOVE the packaging. I'm a sucker for weighty and magnetic packaging. I'm curious to try one of the mattes and the sheerer LE lipsticks like Prune Noir.

@@thelipstickgal I have not tried the mattes yet and I have heard some divisive opinions on those. I have Rouge Vigne in the satin and a LE shiny one, Beige Croisette. Love the formulas of those!

@@thelipstickgal I think I might get the classic looking red from the summer collection to try the matte formula. I am intrigued by the controversy haha. I have been head over heels with the two shades I got too. Rouge Vigne is a pink toned red, I was trying to dupe an older UD Vice lipstick that went bad on me and Vigne reminded me of it.

Right now my “purse red” is Local Celeb by Mac. Not really a huge mac fan, but it’s the closest look/feel I’ve found in a bullet for my my holy grail lip: Armani lip maestro in 405! (405 is just so slightly bluer than LE’s Dragon, and it wears really well. ) That VB red looks really interesting though!!! Thanks for sharing! ❤ PS- I’ve tried a couple other Lip Maestro’s, but the formula has seemed different (look good at first, but get cakey/peely after re-applying)

Hmm. Have you tried the Armani Lip Power Satin formula? It's one of my favorites. I have shade 400, and I LOVE it! I haven't tried the Lip Maestro formula. I'm not a MAC fan either, but they do occasionally put out a formula that pulls me in. I love the Liptensity formula, and I really like the original Powder Kiss formula. I love having a purse red. This one is the perfect neutral red on me. It's not too blue, and not too orange leaning. It goes with anything, and wears like a champ. 100% recommend. It's not my favorite red of all time, but it's SO good.

I actually came to look at this video because I was curious if you would talk about Hourglass Dahlia (I didn't look at the list because I wanted to be surprised). I felt like that lipstick flat out gaslit me. I could not figure out where that hot pink stain was coming from. I have had mine for a little less than a year, but I think I am going to throw it out. I hate the hot pink stain, so why hang onto a lipstick that makes me unhappy? Anyway, relatively new subbie here. I enjoy your content, and we seem to be skin twins! Thank you for what you do.

I'm so mad I spent $40 including tax for a lipstick I never wear and turns my lips hot pink! I don't know who thought that it would be a good idea to release a lipstick formula like that. I won't purchase another one even though many people love the formula. I feel like I've been pranked. Not good.

I have cool coloring and I have Raspberry Radiance by Clé de Peau. I would not get it again; it was very expensive and the holder does not fit into any of the lipstick slots on my perspex stand that I have for makeup. I also have K Romance by Charlotte Tilbury, nearly finished, and I have used Love Of Your LIfe by Lisa Eldridge and both are/were excellent. I no longer buy Lisa Eldridge because of the cost which includes import duty. Charlotte Tilbury makes excellent cream lipsitcks if you get the right color.

I feel like Charlotte makes a great lipsticks. I like both the kissing and the matte revolution formulas. I love Lisa's lipsticks, but I don't have to worry about import duties. 🤷‍♀️ I think I should because it's a UK brand, but I never see anything more than tax on my purchase order. I love the colors that Lisa creates, and it's also one of my favorite formulas. I wish the cle de Peau had better packaging. It's not my favorite. I can make the lipstick work with a lip liner, but I prefer a lipstick that doesn't travel outside my vermilion border.

I would! 🙋🏻‍♀️ME!! I’m the person who would gladly watch an hour of lipsticks! But I understand why not everyone would!! 😂😂 I am almost 56 and we are looking for the same thing in satin lipsticks! I’m taking notes today!!! I could not agree more about the Hourglass! I got one and only one. The cap is annoying because I never put it on the right way the first time!! Plus, it’s nothing special for $38. It’s just “fine”. I’m not paying $38 for “fine”. The La Bouche Rouge making a point to have vegan and cruelty free formulas but selling leather cases is hysterical! I’ve not tried a VB lipstick, but now I will now! It’s on the list and maybe I’ll pick one up the next time I place an order there!! I can’t wait for Part 2 & Part 3

Thanks so much for making time to watch today. I'm glad that you're one of the people who enjoyed my 56 minute video on matte lipsticks, but it was so onerous to make and edit. I couldn't do it again. I like being able to split it up and spend more time talking about the formulas and my experience. I don't like the Hourglass lipsticks. You're right, they're just OK and for $38, I need more! I laugh every time I pull out one of the La Bouche Rouge lipsticks. It makes me giggle and feel a little rebellious. I love the nerve of marketing the lipstick as vegan and "clean" but using a leather case. Hysterical! The VBB lipstick isn't the best lipstick in my collection, but it's so good! I still prefer Lisa Eldridge, but the price is close. Lisa's lipsticks run $36 and Victoria's run $38. I love the slim line shape of the VBB bullet, but I assume we're getting less product over all. I do love the formula, and the fact that I don't need a liner with it is an instant win in my book.

I’m not a fan of those Hourglass lipsticks for the same reason as you mentioned. I have 2 shades and they both wear really funky and I don’t like it one bit. I will be decluttering them because I’m disappointed in Hourglass for this formula.

@@thelipstickgal I have one HG in Dove, wasn’t a love initially, but grabbed it for a quick errand out yesterday, and hours later I glanced in a mirror and was surprised that the color was still there, the color had not changed, and I don’t find it drying either. The VBs are my favs (have 4) and one is always in my purse.

I have Raspberry Radiance by Clé de Peau and I would not recommend an item so expensive for what it is. In fact, it reminds me of a L'Oréal lipstick that I had years ago.

I only have the Lancome 257 Mon Macaron and she’s a gorgeous pink! It smells exactly like L’Oréal and idk if it’s really any better lol I love my Pat McGrath Nude Venus and Merit Baby are the perfect mixer shades to wear different liners with to change the shades … I’m glad I didn’t get the Hourglass lol THANKS!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💄💄💄💄💄🤍🤍🤍🤍 YSL Bold 13 and Dior Addict 418 are my absolute favorites!!! L’Oréal Worth It and Worth It med is satin versions of pillow talks I just discovered they are so pretty!!!!

L'Oreal is Lancome's parent company, so it's not surprising that they share some similarities. I feel like the scent is different between the two brands, but they are similar. I love the Merit lipsticks. I have some of the new ones on the way. They're an exciting launch for me.

The second lipstick crosses the $50 threshold I really have to dig into every detail to see if it’s actually worth the coin. So far closest is Dior which is ‘now’ $49, i don’t remember what it was when i purchased mine maybe $45?! It looks like the mattes are no more and it’s replaced with velvet instead so i hope when i purchase the refill the color is similar. I swatched in store and will be getting 200 during the next sale. Chanel is coming in at $48, i really enjoy the shade but most are similar in the velvet range so i probably won’t purchase another. I haven’t purchased a TF in a while, not interested in the shades quite yet I did swatch the new HG matte line in store and a lot of them pulled warm, the one that I really liked was sparrow so I might try that during the next sale. I was not interested in the creams line, I’d rather go for a satin that dries down slightly over time. That PH thing would have me sending it right back lol

Yeah, I'm not putting up with any pH hot pink in any lipsticks anymore. Especially at the luxury price point. I really like the new Dior. I had some of the Velvet and Satin before the price hike and reformulation, but I don't notice much of a difference in the feel and wear time. I never tried one of the plain matte formulas, but I do like the feel and wear of the Dior Velvets. They scored pretty high in my Matte ranking video. I'm not sure I'm going to purchase any more TF right now. I'm going to see how I do with the 2 I purchased in December. If I reach for them a lot, I'm open to adding more to my collection. I'll probably wait through. So many people mentioned how quickly they turn funky in scent. I'm not wanting to pay TF prices for a lipstick that doesn't last a year. I've had good luck with the 3 recent purchases from Chanel. I like the formulas, and I like the colors I picked up. I don't think that there were many "duds" in the lipstick purchases I've been making recently. (aside from the Byredo and Cle De Peau) Most of the others have been good. Maybe not amazing for the price point, but I'm not upset by many of them. Thanks for watching today Anne.

speaking of PH. i loved the dior lip glow but omg the clear and pink were the worse offenders, i think someone said the berry and mahogany are not like that but idk what the deal is. maybe its some of the pigments like in the case of the HG formula@@thelipstickgal For Dior what i swatched in store the velvet felt similar to the matte, so im just hoping the color is the same whenever i repurchase. I thought TF lasted well or is there a newer formula? the one i have is probably 5 years old by now lol. And yea so true, there are not too many 'bad' formulas out there, its more so how much you want to pay in correlation to the pkg and formula.

@@anneviscardi I've skipped on the Dior Lip Oils because of the pH adjusting situation. I'm not paying Dior prices for bright pink lips. I refuse! I hope you like the new dior velvets. I've been curious to see the new slim line TF lipsticks that were recently teased on Trendmood1 in person. I'm not sure where I'd have to be to see them in store. Probably Seattle or Portland. That's OK. I'm fine with what I have right now. It's truly a lot of lipstick. I don't "need" anymore.

i know! i was like WTH. I literally left the clear in the bathroom and it turned PINK because of the temperature. Im really curious about mahogany though lol@@thelipstickgal Oh yea i forgot about those new TF lipsticks. Im not big on slim line but i haven't give a good enough look at the range. Right now with the dior and HG matte i have 2 on my list for the sale, not including glosses ha. The hotter the weather gets the less the bullets come out to play
