Palu's is safe on shield, is quick, combos, kills, and has more range that Pika's. Sheik's would be amazing with Flip Kick. Squirtle's has debateably more combo potential. G&W can create situations that allow him to get a free grab, has good range, and kills. Wolf's fair would be amazing with something like Link's Spin Attack or ZSS boost kick.

TheDemonChara if you use byleths up b onstage it puts you in a terrible position, and the grappling hook’s offstage game isn’t what make it good. So many of jokers combos can combo into grappling hook. Their not true combos, but they can combo none the less. As well, if you get a grappling hook when the opponent is in the air, it can start some great combos. When aresene is out, it transforms into one of the best recovery tools in the game. I could be wrong on this, but I think it has around 25 frames of invincibility throughout the move, and an invincible startup. While byleths can spike, it’s onstage use is horrible, and I think it isn’t versatile enough to contest jokers. I do think game and watch’s up B wins, but joker deserved a mention.

But Spin Dash and Spin Charge, even though have potential mixups really function the same when compared to other moves. If a character had say Mario F-tilt and Luigi F-tilt at the same time, sure one might be faster and the other might do more damage and has more range, but the fact is both F-tilts are really only used for spacing and the occassional kill. Even if Spin Dash is better up close+I-frames and Spin Charge is better for shield pokes, doesn't really change the fact that they are both used to camp and win in neutral. I wouldn't see why the character is not just "Spin Dash and Charge the character" considering he uses those moves far more often than many of his other moves in neutral. The argument "well he has to use a different move out of a spammable combo starter" doesn't really change the fact the character spams is side/down specials for seven minutes. Also learn what an exaggeration is, it helps on the internet.

Let's say that each part of a Smash character's gameplan (combo game, recovery, edge guarding, etc) is given a 10 point scale, from -5 to 5. -5 means that there are no possible worse options for that particular part of the game, and +5 means it's the best. Pika's T-jolt would roughly give an increase of 5 points to anyone's neutral game (so from 0, or average, to 5), and +2 in ledge trapping. This means that it could turn pretty much anyone's neutral into at least average, probably significantly above that, as well as giving a decent boost to ledge trapping. That's really strong, but then we have to compare it to Monado Arts. Monado Arts, in this system, would probably give a +3. It could make a horrendous neutral not particularly terrible, but it's not likely to give you the best neutral in the game. However, Monado Arts gives a +3 to almost everything a character ever does. Any weakness a character has is shored up by a significant amount. Do you struggle in neutral? Monado Arts does that. Struggle to tack on damage? Monado Arts gives you better damage and a better combo game. Suck in disadvantage? Shield gets you out of combos, Jump gets you back to ledge, and both Jump and Speed get you back to center stage. Considering we're talking about an unknown moveset outside of n-special, Monado Arts is probably significantly superior to t-jolt. T-jolt, while one of the best neutral tools in the game hands down, only really assists in neutral and ledge-trapping. Some combinations of moves just wouldn't be able to abuse t-jolt the way Pikachu can. For instance, what happens if a character is slow, or has weak options on shield? They would still appreciate a lot of the value it gives, but it's not going to make them insanely strong. Comparatively, Monado Arts basically guarantee that whatever character has it will appreciate the buffs it gives to a huge degree. Any weakness that might pop up is heavily diminished, and any strengths are amplified. Plus, there are so many broken combinations of moves entirely based off of Arts buffing a move. Shulk can't kill particularly well unless smash art is in play or he's off-stage, so what happens if you get good kill options on top of Arts? You get characters who can kill like Ken who have no business killing that early. If you have multiple jumps or multiple recovery tools? You now have insane recovery mixups and can make it back from right next to the blast zone. If you have solid combo tools at low percents? Guess what, you can now combo until 100% and then easily set up for kills. There is almost zero chance that a character won't be able to at least heavily benefit from Arts, and a high chance of them having some absolutely unfair tools.

@@envan7865 I dont think so, I'm a pac main and while using fruit in conjunction with the hydrant does make it more versatile, any character can benefited from the zoning tools of the standard fruits, any character gets free galaga combos, free kill confirms from bell, and easy zoning+kills+approach option with key. Taking hydrant away does barely anything to the fruits value. Although you may see a lot of cool clips with fruit and hydrant it's definitely not optimal pac man play to always go for those clips, watch any Tea set and he will almost never do fancy hydrant tricks.

Yeah tjolt wins neutral for free but what else? Monado Arts make neutral, disadvantage and advantage far better for any character, AND he can cheat and punish you, live for ages, not have to struggle for kills (everyone has a kill throw) and edgeguard extremely deep. It's also a mental win because you know you can always come back. It completely changes the way the match is going

Monado arts make you get 40% off a grab, kill at 70%, a really good tech chase game, free recovery, no disadvantage state, the ability to negate all combos and kill confirms and cancel landing lag. I honestly think esam is a bit biased

As a DeDeDe main, Hes not that good, not that good at all, hes one of those characters where your like: Why do I play DeDeDe? Bowser air is better and has better OoS options, DeDeDe edgeguarding is slick but can be difficult to pull off quickley.

99% of the time when I spam it on shield, they drop their shield or try to do an oos option, and I hit THEM with Ftilt. If its above 100 it usually kills.

I think on paper its monado arts but as ESAM said, you kinda have to be outplaying your opponent for them to be useful (ESAM also mentioned about sheild art being predicatble and can be played around easily). T-jolt is literally free approaches, edgeguards and camping. Busted.

You do like a full combo with Shulk and it deals like 17% and because he can't jump projectiles are a big thread to him(only of course if you are able to create a gap between you and shulk).

@@supersts7628 I heavily disagree with outplaying. Yeah, it takes some time, but even just for basics, it completely changes what you can do. Buster, now all your throws can combo. Smash, well, now you have a new set of kill moves. Shield, now you don't have disadvantage. Jump, now your recovery is leagues better. Speed, now your neutral is far better. In theorycrafting, imagine Peach with Buster or Ganon with Smash or Incineroar with Speed. No character wouldn't benefit from Monado, and while T Jolt is insane, easily top 5, it doesn't have near the utility that Monado offers.

@@mjfan1588 Speed isn't really about racking on damage though, it's about getting in and dealing pressure. Enemies in disadvantage are a completely different story than in advantage, and because of Shulk's slow and somewhat limp aerials, he can't really abuse it all that well. Imagine it on Incineroar or Ganon or Luigi, characters with somewhat pathetic air or ground speeds. As for Smash, it's fine so long as you aren't at kill percents. The fact that you get the option makes yourself far more threatening than your enemies, not even to mention how Smash art kills combos because of how far you get sent.

100% agree. People say he has a bad grab which is true. BUT HE HAS THREE KILL THRIWS. His PK thunder tackle goes twice as far, goes the same distance even if it comes in contact with someone, and the pk thunder itself doesn’t disappear if it comes in contact with someone. His down smash is way more consistent when it comes to 2 framing. As much as I hate saying this as a Lucas main because it’s the reason this character gets so much hate, PK freeze is way better than PK flash. Best ness heavily carries ness when it comes to tier lists.
