Sacy said that Saadhak almost had a burnout at Reykjavik, because when they started practicing against EMEA teams they realized that they were a little behind on meta. So Saadhak spent hours studying the other teams with Loud’s coach apart from scrimming a lot. That’s why i think he didn’t fragged so well as he did in Brazil

Production quality through the roof on the top 10 segment especially kurt, made it so much more enjoyable even on top of a great show! Also Vans said he wouldnt put any rookies in his top 10 but is ardiis technically an international LAN rookie? I cant think of one hes been to lol

I really think Wyatt is overvaluing Northeption a lot. I don’t think they are bad by any means, but saying they have a good chance of getting 3rd?!?! They have a chance, I wouldn’t say its a good one though. Prove me wrong Northeption but I just don’t see it happening.

ALSO, Wyatt fails to realize DRX did GOOD at Reykjavik, he’s so quick to shit on Buzz like DRX bombed out of the tournament, they did good! They beat prx and G2, and were undefeated in groups if I’m not mistaken. DRX is REALLY good and has been really good. Love Wyatt but his takes this video were just ehh.

The field is just so much harder than reykjavik, i guess its possible (though i think unlikely) that they can play at a similar level to zeta did at that even, but i dont think thatll be enough to get top 3 here with so many great teams

I think crashies gets overrated sometimes these days because he used to be one if not the best. These days the top is crowded and he really doesn't stand out that much anymore.

@@LimabeanStudios I think he falls victim to being the perfect role player. He’s so painfully consistent, like Yay, where we are just used to his ability and expect it from him. He isn’t any worse than he used to be, he’s just consistently great. When the moments you expect out of a player of his caliber become the standard because of his consistent success, it makes it look less exciting. He serves as the rock for the team which is currently the most recent international champions- his role cannot be understated. Think of how Xeta seemed to be pretty boring sometimes but the second he leaves C9 they stumble since they are missing such a key piece of their success, regardless of how boring that key can be to watch.

I think it's crazy how most people consider Optic the clear favourites: 1. Winning Masters a second time in a row is a lot harder than winning the first time. 2. Calling them sole favourites on the back of the a tournament in which EMEA didnt field their best and their 3rd best team is naive. Not saying that Optic dont have alot going for themselves or that they arent S-tier together with FNTC, Loud and maybe DRX and FPX but to say that they're more favoured than those other teams is pure cap

What? Optic is the only team that you can make a clear argument for being the favorites because they are the only team that has WON anything and shown they can live up to the expectations. Sure, that last tournament didn’t have the best EMEA representation but the competition was still there due to ZETA and PRX’s form being in top shape. I don’t think there is a favorite for the tournament personally, but Optic is the only team this year who has proven their ability on a LAN environment. They have the most data and experience to back up them being the favorites. You can speculate and say FNATIC or FPX are in better form than them currently, but they haven’t proven anything in a LAN environment like Optic have. I think FNATIC could have a higher ceiling than Optic at this event, but the floor for Optic is so insanely high that it warrants them going in as favorites.

@@casey6573 How can you say FNTC and Loud are unproven on lan? Loud literally beat Optic on lan and made the grand final on their FIRST lan! And FNTC obviously didnt have the chance to prove themselves last time without their top 2 player in the world and now they have a new roster anyway. And even then you can argue that they are proven on lan since they already went to a grand final before (that was a long time ago but still the same core of the team)

@@musculusiv4172 Loud isn't unproven on LAN, I said the EMEA teams were. Even then, Loud quite literally proved themselves as SECOND to Optic so it doesn't make a difference: they haven't proved they can win it all, which is what a favorite for a tournament can do. FNATIC may have a similar core, but Alfajer is so integral to the team's success that if he doesn't perform on LAN, considering this is his first time playing on one, the team won't have nearly as much success. So yes, this FNATIC have yet to prove themselves on LAN. What they were a year ago makes no difference since the team's identity has changed so much. You said it yourself: "they didn't have the chance to prove themselves last time without their top 2 player in the world." This time, they do, and it just so happens that their other best player has no experience in a LAN environment whatsoever.

Hope this is taken as honest feedback rather than an issue with Wyatt himself but he needs to talk less when he hosts, I think what Josh is so good at is introducing a topic quickly and throwing it to someone else to give their take whereas Wyatt introduces the topic and then spends way to long giving his own opinion before asking anyone else which makes it feel less like a natural discussion. Just my opinion no hate intended great pod as all ways

Hot Take: Yay does not deserve a top 10 spot. He ONLY ever played broken Jett and broken Chamber, unlike Derke, Zekken, Alfajer who can also pop off on more supportive agents or at least entry frag. Yay just heavily gets carried by busted chamber.
