I'm not saying I don't like them- pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite in kh3. It's just that in kh2, sora Donald and goofy were searching the worlds to find riku and mickey. They were asking in every world if they had seen them. In kh1, they were sealing each of the world's to stop the heartless. To me, kh3s world's were just there. Now did I enjoy the worlds- yes.

It’s weird how people that don’t like the worlds downplay the significance of the Disney worlds because they don’t have the same narrative purpose of “finding Riku and Kairi” as kh1 and 2. There are still reasons they go there

​@Erikthedood the majority of the time sora and donald forget what the hell they're even supposed to be doing in the worlds. It's hard to take the story seriously when the protagonist doesn't even give enough of a shit to remember what he is meant to be doing. The KH 1 and 2 had the simple yet clear goal of finding his best friends he grew up with. An easily identifiable goal to get behind that was no problem to emphasize with. But in KH 3 getting roxas back is gatekept by first learning this abstract and esoteric ability called the power of waking, supposedly. But also needing a replica body too. Which is very contrived and convoluted. A very obtuse and round about way of bringing him into the story. Furthermore we don't even get to see sora use this power of waking for roxas once he finally does bring him back. Making for a weak pay off and things seeming even more confusing and pointless in hindsight. It just comes off as them needing to justify the power of waking being a thing because we can't have dream drop distance being for nothing. It needed to feel like it wasn't an entirely unnecessary game. The reason that kh2 doesn't get the same hate for following the disney storylines in worlds compared to 3. Is due to the episodic structure of the game never breaking the pacing and slowing things to a complete halt. They are shorter and more succinct, getting split into at least 2 visits per world. The first time usually being the follow the movie structured visit. Before the second revisit acting as a nice epilogue, free to chart it's own course when showcasing the after math of the events that took place prior. The organization would usually show up and fuck with the worlds in some which way. Requiring sora to have to step in and defend them. This allows them to follow the cannon story while still being engaging and feeling like sora had an impact and influence on the worlds he visited. Instead in kH 3 we get few super long worlds. Some of which barely has sora impacting or even interacting with the characters in any meaningful ways. He is stuck serving as a background character rather than an active participant. Case in point being the frozen level. Where he spends the majority of the time, climbing a mountain multiple times, building snowmen and being trapped in an ice labyrinth. While the main plot of the movie plays out regardless of his participation or not. And don't even get me started on how naive and immature sora acts about everything in comparison to Kh 1 and 2 sora. Despite being older and more experienced in 3.

Also, yeah remind is fantastic. The only reason I split it up as it's own is because I simply have different feelings over kh3 by itself and I didn't want to drag down remind because of it lol

If kh4 ends up playing like kh2 as seen in the trailer, then it's going to top tier 😃 so I'm right there with you

You bring up a good point, I prefer 3 over 1 in terms of gameplay. But story wise, kh1 hit me harder except for soras sacrifice in kh3

Not here lol I'm a fan of it. It just had a lot of expectation for it, and it just couldn't live up to that after how well kh2 was. But still love it; especially remind

because kh3 had some boring worlds and the vibes were ass. I would give it a 7 out of 10 while kh1 has 9 out of 10.

@@theelusivepootisberd7471 The feeling I had in 1 was unique. In 2 it lost these kh1 vibes but wasnt bad. In Kh3 the game felt so boring. I was disappointed. Kh3 is okay but a bad kh for me.

If people are hating you for liking a game that is subjectively bad, not objectively bad, then that’s their problem and you don’t have to worry about them.

Other than bbs being so low, I can get behind it. Did you just not like bbs and COM?

Unfortunately its just how the game play is setup and how spread out the story is that hurts it. Everything to do with the foretellers, the MoM, and most of the characters is interesting and plays out well, like you said to some of the best story in the series

My reasoning on ddd being so low is- if you take it out of the story, did you miss anything? For it being right before kh3, it brought nothing to the overall narrative. Sure it explains the time travel aspect, and I loved young xehanort as a boss and the dream eaters were fun. And bbs is good, but it does have its flaws, with how initially aquas va was to how broken some of the enemies were. But I 100% agree on days- good but in bursts. What can I say, I have an odd opinion on what I like 😅

@@GlacierHades i can understand that but it also gives insight and reasoning as to why sora failed his mastery test and why riku did not. which some might not know when playing 3. it does add to the story but not too much as you said. it also dives into the power of waking i think more than any other game does if i remember correctly. tho i do think the game can be easily cheesed making it slightly less fun/challenging (balloonra) its still a great game in my opinion atleast. i think those were the only things i disagreed with. bbs ranking and DDD other than that the list actually is pretty solid

@@xolotl3383 I mean technically power of waking has been in since kh1; chirithi said sora has wondered in a few times by accident in kh3, meaning the station of awakening is the power of waking. It's also why roxas said "you never lost it" in kh3 when sora awakens him. Sora just never understood what was going on to do it on purpose before. But I get it lol

KH3 is the worst game. People say the combat is complex but it’s so easy even on hard difficulty you can just button mash the whole game so there’s no point in using it. No memorable opener song or ending song like in the first and 2nd game. They added a bunch of nonsense in combat which kills all the enemies for you as well. Just an atrocious game.

overrated? Its maybe the best game in the series with kh2. KH3 is overrated.

1.5 and 2.5 are two of the best games. And honestly kh3 with the dlc is still the best to release
