I'm a Steph and GSW fan, but you gotta give Jokic his respect. Even if the Nuggets had an "easy" opponent in the Finals, he's still a two-time MVP, and he could've gotten a 3rd one if he didn't rest up for the playoffs at the end of the season.

@@iluvdissheet the united states definitely has the highest concentration of basketball talent out of all the countries. Theres great players outside of it for sure though. Im canadian, hockey is highly competitive at the international level and people consider canada “the best” even though ice hockey really is a toss up between about 5 countries. That competitiveness isnt there in basketball everytime USA decides to make a “dream” team

Maybe, but not a single player playing center..right now, there is no american, black, white, brown, mulatto in the top five at center...sure, you can say that davis is top 5, but he doesn't play or want to play the 5...here is my top 5 centers, in no particular order, all foreigners or foreign born...jokic, embiid, kat, sabonis, and gobert, then it is a toss up between adebayo, ayton, vucevic and only adebayo is american...then allen, lopez, valanciunis, porzingis, adams, nurkic, capela, and maybe wembanyana, then again, only allen and lopez are americans...

One problem with what you are saying is basically none of those star players are from the same country, the WORLD team is better, but as countries individually united states is easily the best. As a gsw fan I think the whole nuggets run showcased why jokic right now is the best player in the world. He can do anything you ask of him; rebound, score, assist, shot blocking. I think steph belongs somewhere in the top5 of the league rn.

Jok gotta be at 1. Steph is my favorite player ever, but there’s no denying what Jok just did. KAT and Ant Man, KD and Book, AD and Lebron, Jimmy and Bam. On top of all of that he put up ridiculous stat lines the whole way there. I’m a Kawhi stan too, so I would like to have seen him up one or two slots, but I get it he’s injury prone.

I agree and i am a heat fan…luka been averaging 30/7/7 his entire 4-5 year career and he averages 32/9/9 in playoffs…Jimmy a dawg and has carried his team to playoffs and finals many a times but Luka is a better scorer passer and rebounder than jimmy and just like jimmy luka too elevates his game to next lvl during playoffs only difference is Luka balls hard on regular season too and has been top3 in scoring for like 3 of his 4-5 year career…Butler has never ever been in contention of winning scoring title and MVP in his entire career…again i like to reiterate i am a heat fan

Sometimes you can't rank players just based on their skills. You have to also consider the success they bring to the team especially in the post season..Sure there are more skilled players but none of them have consistently lead their team to success like Jimmy has done.. Timberwolves made playoffs after years then Philly were one game away from finals and we all know about the heat

Great list. I would also like to shoutout something that Curry does / doesnt do that isn’t directly related to his scoring but the team. Hes undenyably one of the GOATs but he also isn’t afraid to give up the ball to others when they have an open shot and hes in traffic or contribute to an assist, which can’t be said for some stars at all

How much did you factor defense into these rankings? I genuinely appreciate the storytelling and effort, but it feels painfully obviously defense received very little (or no) weight in these rankings. It also feels you gave counting stats a lot of weight. Players like Lavine, Ingram, and Fox shoudn't even be in the top 30. And Curry below Jokic is plain ridiculous.

I think that there is a reason certain people make the all-star game while other players don't. Like, yes, there are votes, but those are only for the starters. And the starters are always the best players in the league. The coaches pick the reserves. They picked Haliburton as one of the top 26 players in the league. Jrue Holiday is the exception. Nah, the list actually really bad all round, Luka's easily top 3, at worst top 4, he also has markennen and lavine ahead of murray, has shai ahead of kyrie, this list is abominable

AD when healthy is a top 10 player his defense alone made Lakers defense so good. @hogrider5406 shai is not on kyrie's level, putting up empty stats on a horrible team doesn't make him better, shai hasn't done anything in the playoffs, he's never even sniffed the playoffs except for 2020 where he put up weak numbers and did absolutely nothing, kyrie is better at him at everything except defense, stop with the atrocious takes

Love your list. Of course you have a bias. Everyone does. I LOVE that you have Steph on top. Steph keeps getting better every year. He deserves to be there. LeBron kept his #1 place for some years while his skills/impact were declining. Steph, on the other hand, hasn’t been considered for the top spot for years now. Underrated and taken for granted. He’ll come off my #1 spot as soon as I see real decline in his impact, and when he stops adding to his bag of tricks. Go Hoops!

Luka should be a consensus top 5 player. Top 2 playmaker passer and scorer while being a playoff riser. There’s no argument for 7 players over him. Clearly this is based off the fact they missed the playoffs when it wasn’t even Lukas faults mavs were 0-7 without him 😂
