Any QB list that doesnt contain Marino is worthless. Thumbs down.

Fran Tarkenton was amazing. He held all the NFL passing records at the time that he had retired, and made it to 4 Super Bowls. And he was the original "Patrick Mahomes", as he would extend plays for 15-20-30 seconds at a time, and do figures-eights and reverse figure-eights in the backfield, while throwing the Football downfield with precision on the run. There was not a single pass that Tarkenton could not make, and he could also beat you with his feet. In terms of pure QB talent, Fran Tarkenton was at a level that redefined the range of the QB position. He is often overlooked, but deserves to be in the top 4 or 5 of ALL TIME.

No Elway or Marino is crazy imo, Elway never had great individual stats but that's primarily because he had the worst teams around him out of any all-time great quarterback ever. He was (justifiably) known for being clutch as hell and brought his Broncos to five Superbowls and won two despite the rest of the team being terrible for three of those Superbowl runs. Marino can be criticized for shrinking in the playoffs and having no rings, but his sheer production cannot be ignored. He had one of the greatest arms in history and his (regular season) numbers are still great by today's standards which you can't say about any other quarterback from that era, not even the illustrious Joe Montana. In my opinion, 1. Brady 2. Montana 3. Manning 4. Mahomes (if he wins while putting up good numbers in SB58, he's #2) 5. Rodgers 6. Brees 7. Young 8. Marino 9. Elway 10. Farve

You’re also acting like I’m making excuses for why Elway never won a ring, when he literally won twice and got a Super Bowl mvp with a dominant performance in the last game of his career. Two rings is more than Rodgers, Brees, Young, Marino, AND Farve, and it’s tied with Mahomes (for now) and Manning. Manning was also dragged to a ring in his last year.

I guess getting 4 SB rings in an era that was anything but QB-friendly doesn't make you a top 10 QB. I have a massive problem with Brady being called the GOAT. Is he the best in the current era? Absolutely, but he wouldn't make it a season if he played in the 70s or 80s. In those eras, Bountygate was basically the defensive playbook. The defense's job was to take out the quarterback, and if he walked away at the end of the game, you weren't playing hard enough. The idea of roughing the passer being called on the defense because they looked cross-eyed at the QB would have been crazy in the '70s and '80s. Comparing QBs since the changes in the RTP rules with those before the change is like comparing apples and oranges.

Aikman was good and often downplayed by his haters, but he also wasn't even close to one of the greatest QBs ever. He was on loaded Cowboys teams that was akin to today's 49ers, except even better. @lightning100533 ай бұрын
@@ashtonmillis4951 Nope. I'm a giants fan. The facts just speak for themselves. At a certain point you're just arguing with what factually happened. I watched the supposed GOAT get trashed by my team twice when it 'mattered most' so I've got no reason to cope like some of you to feel better. Aaron didn't choke or 'always come up short' nor did brady step up. His team choked while brady's regularly bailed him out. Stop listening to people like skip bayless. They factually lie to convince you of bs. Rodgers vs Brady per game playoff stats. (I'll even go based off 2008-2022 just so there's no era argument) 21 games vs 31 games. 100.1 vs 90.6 passer rating. 64.7 vs 62.4 completion %. 5.8 vs 4.7 TD % 1.7 vs 2.1 INT % 0 vs 2 pick sixes 3.46 vs 2.21 TD:INT ratio 7.6 vs 7.1 passing Y/A 11.8 vs 11.4 Y/C 3.8 vs 2.6 TDs per game. 443 vs 323 yards per game. See who wins in basically every playoff stat there is? Rodgers. In other words just say you didn't watch the games and only listened to skip bayless. Considering he's number 2 in MVPs. At minimum top 2 in talent. And staistically still the greatest QB of all time before adjusting for era when you look at both the playoffs and the regular season. It feels pretty safe to say he's at minimum top 3. I'm not even a packers fan it's just obvious when you just watch the games much less check the stats. The dude is at minimum top 3 if not the GOAT. Saying he shouldn't be considered up that high because of 1 bad playoff game is just delusion. Brady had multiple just as bad if not worse while rodgers has had so many great ones. Nail in the coffin? More like cherrypicking.
@ashtonmillis49513 ай бұрын
@@lightning10053 well those are some nice stats, now let’s look at the most important one, winning. The excuses for Rodgers ended in 2021 like I already said. At the end of the day 1 ring isn’t enough to be the goat it’s really that simple
@ashtonmillis49513 ай бұрын

@@ashtonmillis4951 It's a team sport buddy. Claiming winning is the most important way to judge an individual is stupid. Terry bradshaw has 4 rings. Does that mean he belongs in the GOAT convo over Peyton? Eli has 2 rings. Does that mean he belongs in the GOAT convo over dan marino and brett favre? Otto Graham won 7 championships in 10 years. Where's his GOAT status at? Context matters. It's why bill russel ain't better than jordan, rocky marciano ain't better than muhammad ali, and robert horry ain't better than lebron. Context matters, whether it be a different era or a better team. So with all due respect you can take your winning argument and toss it cause it amounts of all of 2 cents in this discussion an that's me being generous. The fact your argument has to focus on a team accomplishment rather than how brady actually played speaks volumes. On any given year the best quarterback in the league will win league MVP. Yet before Mahomes last year no MVP had won it since 1999, and out of the 38 times a QB has won mvp, only 6 of those ended in a SB victory. Think back on the greatest QB seasons in NFL history. 1984 marino, 2007 brady, 2011 rodgers, 2013 Peyton, 2018 mahomes. What do they all have in common? No rings. At a certain point it just become obvious, the best QB rarely wins wht sb, so why does winning it the most make brady the best of all time? It doesn't. Brady ain't the GOAT. Like I said. Brady's had a ton of games just like rodgers did in 2021. So that stance doesn't even help you. We're talking about thee ultimate team sport here. Using team accomplishments to judge 1 player is just outright absurd. We're here to talk about how they played. Not how many championships their team won. It's just that simple.
