I think a lot of the lower ranked ones are in the most popular section because they were made early in SMM2's life, or for the ones that could've existed in SMM1, they were liked by people who never owned SMM1.

In my opinion I think it’s great to have Levels we’ve seen since Mario maker 1 It makes good nostalgia and even thought originality/Creativity is what makes SMM Series popular I find it annoying that people always want original and not wanted to even play nostalgic levels

Also, I was wondering if you've thought about making another video on course decorations? As someone who has specialized on art levels I really appreciated the first one you made, as sharing that stuff is close to my heart. However, I feel like you only stratched the surface - there's so much more to what you can do with the semisolids and slopes for example, and especially, with the tracks. Like, it's one thing to make your regular levels look nice, and to make levels that completely focus on creating different visual aspects to the game to the point where the end result feels like a completely new course theme - or something that's not even a Mario level... I'm just hoping taking a new look on the art levels/visual design might make an interesting video, and including the story/RPG levels into that might be cool too... :-) Thank you for reading, and thank you for your awesome videos! Very interesting video, it's really cool that you put both rankings in the corner. Top 100 Super Expert Levels would be really interesting to see as well because the top 100 for all difficulties has too many too easy levels because little Timmys aren't as skilled and patient.

Playable mushroom is clearly my favorite one, I love the concept and the puzzles.

Take a shot every time he picks up a POW Block at a weird angle.

Super Castlevania Bros. has always been the stand-out level for me. Not only does it nail the Castlevania atmosphere it also plays super well with thoughtful challenges and feelgood platforming. The Metroid levels have always felt lacking in comparison, relying heavily on the gimmicks and locked doors with not much actual exploration or platforming.

After watching this video, I got back into Super Mario Maker. Thank you! And also, I love pigstep.

My level was actually at some point top 150th in all-time super expert. Now it has dropped to around 250th. I wasn't particularly proud of that level though since it copied the saw jumping genre when that was popular except with a little more decoration. It's called "Mad Jumps 2: Popularity Grinder" (I wonder why lol) if you want to check it out. There's actually 10 pages of each leaderboard, you just gotta press ZR or ZL to scroll. Anyway, super expert levels can't get as much likes as other levels simply because they are difficult. Sad Edit: I actually almost managed to get royal suit from weekly maker points with the prequel of the level I mentioned, but your #12 spot was far more popular at the same time, while it also being the creator's first really popular level. I tried to make Mad Jumps 2 to get the royal suit but only managed to stay top 100 in weekly maker points for 1 more week.

I’m going on a mini-rant here and I just wanted to say I’m glad you put hardcore jumps on 98 because although some of my starting levels are pretty bad I made this level that I was really proud of and I didn’t expect it to be that popular but it actually did poorly. Then I saw this one hardcore jumps level and got pretty annoyed how the maker didn’t put a lot of time and effort in their level.

I think the best level in Mario maker 2 is Mortal Koopas, beautiful music, perfect challenge, completely original, ultra creative!
