I’d probably change up the order for which books I would want first based on personal preferences but purely based on what I think the values should be your list is pretty spot on

This list seems really spot-on for me. The one I'm least certain with here is XMen 1 because it's not as scarce as some others. FF is only A-tier for me because of its historical significance - I don't care for it much. S: AF15, Hulk 1 A: JIM 83, XMen 1, FF1, B: TOS 39, Avengers 1, Hulk 181 C: ASM 1, Daredevil 1, GSX 1 D: Strange Tales 110 , Tales to Astonish 27

Oh lawdy Swaggs I was screaming at you before you even started talking about GSX to not even talk about it and move it straight to S tier, then you pulled the okie-doke and punted it to the basement, lmao. I was with you on all the other ones, but I am a person that is not an x-guy, and only randomly pay attention to the X-Men, but this issue is iconic in a way that is greater than the sum of it's first appearances, borne out in the recent market activity. But I'm not assigning it to the S tier for it's value, but rather that it was the spawn of probably the best known team of super-heroes world-wide in the history of comic books. Very cool exercise and I can't believe nobody in the community had thought of this before. Gamers throw these things out there on the daily. Nice work! Might try it myself.

Agree for the most part. However, I would have FF 1 as S tier; the other books don’t exist without its success. I would move X-Men 1 down to A tier because early X-Men books are…. well, early X-Men books. GS X-Men 1 would be A list for me. This is where the X-Men as we know them started. Without it, X-Men would be Marvel’s Doom Patrol.

I think a cool video idea would be to go through these characters runs and rank the grails from that run. So like comparing all the ASM grails to each other, or all the X-Men grails, for example

Solid list but imo TTA deserves a bump in the tier. That book is super scarce in any grade and he has been heavily featured in the MCU. Marvel Comics #1 should be included on this list right next to AF #15

I agree with your list except for two. Xmen 1 I would bump down at least one spot. And Daredevil the same.

Tales of suspense #39 is for me a S tier. Iron man is my ultimate favourite superhero of all heroes. Love his so so much .

Swap Hulk and FF and your list is better.

Daredevil DID have a "C tier" movie. Not from the 70's but from 1989. It's called "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk," a back-door pilot for a Daredevil TV series, which never happened.

I think there's a significant amount of bias in your choices, which is ok because this is just an opinion based list more than a definitive list. I also think you excluded certain other exceptionally significant grails to the list. You failed to include any of the original Captain America and Submarinor original Timely Comics. They are still part of the Marvel Continuity and should be ignored considering they are at the top echelon of not only Marvel Grails but all comics period.. In addition, Marvel Spotlight 5 in my opinion should have been included. The Ghost Rider character broke ground in many ways and through recent record breaking sales has proven that it truly is worthy of Grail status.

This was a fun video. I respect the list but FF for me is S tier simply because the story Stan Lee tells behind it. Historically it's value cant be overstated when it comes to the Marvel franchise. Also for me personally would flip flop ASM1 and DareDevil's positions but the rest of the list I am good with.

I think your ranking are close to mine. However, the first appearance of iron man is one of the coolest covers out there.

Fun video, no right or wrong answers, it's all subjective. It is funny how torqued up people can get though.

Great video and new subscriber. I own 10 of the 13 (minus FF1, ASM1 and TTA27). When deciding which Ant-Man comic to get I opted for TTA35 instead of 27 because it had Hank Pym in costume for the first time, was a better cover and most important a lot cheaper.

ST110 - I would but in 'B' as Doctor Strange is (or will be) Peter Parker's new mentor. Daredevil I am biased and I hate to admit but based on not YET showing up in an MCU movie 'B' is probably correct. ToS 39 I put in front of all in row 'A' as he really is the Grand Daddy of Marvel characters in the MCU.

I was with you until X-Men #1...I hate those costumes...I would have that in the A tier. I almost bought one this year, 4.0...but someone drew a face on Iceman...ugh. I sold my ASM1...and have owned several copies of Hulk 181 and GSX1...currently sitting on a DD1 and looking for a JIM83. Good Job on the video. Thank you.

I agree with most rankings (sound justifications for each) but....the Giant Size is a little low on your scale. Like the 181 not super hard to find in a low grade, but being a square bound book makes it harder to find in high grades and there are multiple 1st appearances in the book.

Think I'd swap Hulk with Fantastic Four and Avengers with Giant Size X-Men for my tier list. I'd like to move Daredevil up, but then I'd be biased, 😄.

Generally agree. One in the A tier ( 181). Rest fall in the next tiers. Have given up on Hulk, X-men and AF due to price and lack of trading opportunities. Glad yo have most of the others!

I’d say that Spider-Man is 1 because of miles adds a lot value. Dc has been going down in other forms of media, for Batman after Arkham games and Nolan trilogy. animated and comics have been consistent been good.

Depends when you were born... also Pre MCU would be insanely different. Would be Amazing Fantasy 15, X-Men 1, Hulk 181, Spider-man 1, Fantastic 4 #1. After MCU - X-men items replaced by Cap and Iron man. I don't even know the issues where Iron Man, Dr. Strange or Thor appeared. You say Amazing Fantasy 15 or Detective Comics 27 and people instantly know what it means.

Watching some of your old videos. I love your show but respectfully disagree on your rankings. AF#15 is in a tier of its own. Tier two is FF#1 followed by Hulk #1. No way JIM#83 tops FF#1. Putting Hulk#181 in the same tier as FF#1 I cannot agree with at all. They are exactly 13 years apart. There are roughly 2,700 CGC graded Hulk#181s 9.0 and above. There are only 19 copies of FF#1 graded 9.0 and above. For me FF#48 and #52 would come before Giant Size X-Men #1. I'd put TTA#27 before ST#110. Hank Pym pre-dates Hulk and AF#15. He pre-dates ST#110 by 1.5 years. Finally, if you are going to throw Giant Size X-men #1 in the mix I think you would have to consider Marvel Spotlight #5 too. It pre-dates GSX-Men by 3 years. It's a black cover. There are 210 CGC 9.8 Giant Size X-Men. There are only four 9.8 Marvel Spotlight #5s. Anyway, good stuff Maynard.

xmen is an A tier book. there are too many versions of the xmen and over time the characters will be used less and the desirability to have this book will go down. I prefer Justice league to Xmen. much more iconic.

Sorry, but putting any book other than AF15 and IH1 ahead of FF1 can only happen if you either don't know or don't appreciate Marvel's history. So I'm assuming this vid was for fun (not educational)? It's always fun to discuss keys, so we can't be too mad at the disrespect toward FF1. But that was a noob mistake. Seriously.
