Picturing you as George C Scott, saying "Turn it on... turn it on.... TURN IT ONNNNNN!"

I'm around your age Joe, and this has happened to me over the decades as well. When it did happen, someone would always come by, and tell you what's going on. Today, that seems like a lost art. Glad you were able to see the movie later.

This has never happened to me in all my years as a pretty avid theater goer. That said from the best that I can recall the human element has all but been eliminated from the movie theater experience outside of custodial work and food preparation. There is no longer a person up in that projection booth any more monitoring the film as many theatres are automated from the projection room to the concession stand and within the next decade dollars to doughnuts the human element in the box office will be a thing of the past. Now when all of this works it does expedite the process but when there is a spanner in the works such as what you experienced the entire human chain breaks down because the employees aren’t trained to handle these circumstances because they are regarded as unforeseen.

God bless you Joe and all your love and all I can say is, common Sense isn't so common. And that's what definitely happened at the movie theater.

this kind of stuff happens once in a while..you had a bad experience...we all do...I think a rant should be an every day experience that at one time or another that we all go through...example - you never get enough ketchup/ dipping sauce sauce for your burger, fries or nuggets at a drive through window...you always have to ask for extra.....love you Joe - look forward to all your videos! # Beatles #1!!

There is no customer service anymore. Businesses think they're doing you a favor when they offer a product. Most likely, they would have let you sit in the dark for the rest of the day.
@AbbieOates2 ай бұрын
That is super irritating. I can’t stand the lack of staff at theatres or under trained staff. It’s not their fault, it’s the owners trying to squeeze every penny offering a subpar experience. Maybe go this coming Tuesday to get a discount?

Accurate and fantastic rant! Back in the good old days, this kind of stuff rarely happened in a movie theater. Today it has become common place believe me! Travesty! Take care❤😊

I totally agree with you Joe. The Days are long gone I think of Customer Service. Who knows what management was doing during all of this time that everybody was waiting. I bet they were all staring at their cellphones and sending a text, just to busy with that to do their jobs and to notice what is going on in the theatre. It is true that these things happen, but it is going to become all too frequent in the future, sadly, I bet it will

hi joe, i understand where your coming from. it seems these days nobody cares about respect and responsibility. the theatre should have definitley informed you of what was going on, like i keep saying nobody gives a rats a-- anymore ! they should have given you complimentary tickets for another showing. really sad about whats going on these days. thanks for sharing another rant. take care, rob

There seems to be more and more disconnect between people so that when that technical problem occurred, no one even thought of going into the theatre (or over a P.A. system) to make an announcement. The people who work there didn't even think of the fact that there were paying customers in there, getting no show at all. It might help if you and the other people there would call or write or email the theatre to tell them that they should tell people if there's a problem. Who knows? Maybe they'll be a little more conscientious next time, or maybe they'll ignore the feedback and keep doing things the same way.

I hate to sound like that old guy yelling at the kids to get off his lawn but... I think this has something to do with the work ethic of younger generations. I'm not so sure that they really care as long as it doesn't affect them personally then what's the problem? I work with young people and I've noticed that they expect things to be done for them and they are not willing to put in an effort or even understand the concept of effort. Of course I'm generalizing, I know that there are plenty of young people that are great workers but there plenty that aren't. I don't bother with going to the movies anymore. I just don't find the experience all that satisfying not like it used to be. Nowadays it's all about profit and making money off of anything and everything you can. The fun and enjoyment of a nice night out has been sucked right out by greed. Make them pay a lot and give little back in return is the motto these days. Sad.

I completely agree, and it only gets worse each new generation.

Went to see Doctor Sleep a few years ago and with about a half hour left in the movie, the screen went dead. Waited but no one told us anything. After waiting for it to restart we went to the desk in the lobby. They said they would restart the movie in a few minutes. From the beginning! We already watched most of it so we asked for a refund. At least they gave us one but I've never seen the last half hour of the film. The book is much better anyway!

Man there is a lot of unload here….first of all I love that you said you are a mall walker!! That made me laugh….but yes glad they gave you a refund, but they should have given you a free ticket for the movie of your choice. I get it. It’s the world we live in which is terrible but still. They should have given you something more…just to entice you, if I may be so bold to invite you back and say yes please…as the song says “Don’t forget about me!!” Peace and Love…no autographs!! 😀

Very shoddy way to be treated. Not being told what was happening is a recipe for anger and resentment. it is also very rude You have every right to be displeased. It sound like it was being shown on the wrong screen. i don't think Twentieth Century Fox would allow a movie like that to be shown on a rabbit hutch screen. I would suggest you tell them.
