I’m a PE teacher in a primary school and everyday I have to go supervise outside when it’s break time or lunchtime. Since Halaand has come to England I’ve never heard a child playing football and say “I’m Erling Halaand” or “I wanna play just like Halaand”. I think that sums up everything you need to know not just about Halaand but the current state of football as a whole

Strikers like henry and rooney and aguero. They are known for their footballing ability as much as their goals. The reason why haaland is so good and so much better at scoring goals is because he doesn't overcomplicate being a striker. Hes not interested in improving other aspects of his play and i agree. Strikers jobs are to put the ball in the back of the net. Nothing more nothing less. And theres nothing boring about scoring goals and winning games. I like rants but hes completely wrong on this one.

@thetrain47539 Cantona is still a better overall footballer than Haaland and far better technically. Not saying Haaland isnt a very good player. He is an elite finisher and has elite movement and is very strong and athletic but he isnt and never will be as technically good as Cantona or even someone like Sergio Aguero. Harry Kane is anothet striker who is a better all round footballer than Haaland.

Rants keep spitting facts. As a rival Chelsea fan growing up Rvn was mocked and called a 6 yard merchant. Haarland is a great goal scorer but that’s all. Compare his technique to the likes of crouch or zlatan for example, as pure footballers they shit on him 🤷🏾

Honestly I think its just a phase If a manager comes along playing a style of football that highlights the Number 9, we'd get more players fulfilling that role Currently the best manager is Pep, you can argue Ancelotti but Pep does it in the prem which is currently the most popular. Team are emulating the best and until Pep and his style of football stop winning or he changes style then we won't see the Number 9's of the past.

Exactly, the players of this generation grew up watching goal scoring wingers (the best) ronaldo & messi, all it takes is a manager who wants a pass first orientated winger to change things back for the strikers.. infact its what pep is doing now, everyone else is still on the goal scoring winger phase

Does make sense with how Pep instructs Grealish to play and the way Haaland been playing in recent games. 2 - 3 years time and we'll probably see what Pep's end product looks like unless he changes his mind or something. Maybe even sooner than 2 - 3 years

I do agree most of what's Rants is saying but imo i never cared whether a no.9 scored a goal inside or outside the box their job is to score and that's it. I aesthetically critically judge wingers, midfielders and defenders. I don't want my strikers too overcomplicate things cuz the other 9 players will do the work for the no.9 even tho he looks like a donkey🤣. At my club, Aguero was something special ive never seen so ill always put him above Haaland. But its worrying that expressing your football ability on the pitch is slowly dying

What I find funny is everyone loves haaland because he scores loads of goals..most being tap ins...but when ronaldo became a out and out striker and scored alot tap ins...everyone said he's just a tap in merchant...haalands stats r only better than messi and ronaldos at this age because 1 is a goal hanger and other 2 was playing more as creative players and showing everyone why they will be 2 of best players to ever grace the game...how anyone can compare haaland to messi and ronaldo ever is a joke..

I dont agree with you on this Rants. mainly cause I used to watch Inzaghi and I had and still have huge respect for that kind of player. *Takes a lot of high football IQ to be at the right place at the right time, all of the time* ! You need to understand the game at a deep level and you need to understand your teams tactics and teammates as well. I have much less respect for pace merchants like Rashford and Mbappe . But ppl that just know where to be to make a tap in? I can watch them every day all day long. Thats just me though. Cause I love the tactical aspect of football just as much as I love me some Ronladinho/Neymar esque showboating. PS. My favourite kind of "attacker" were ppl like Cantona, Baggio, Rivaldo, Totti, , R9, Ronaldinho, Bergkamp, del Piero. But I have always respected the so called foxes in the box. it just a different type of high football IQ IMO.
