This video was filmed on February 23rd, 1976 for the Australian music television program "Countdown". It featured the band and the members of the Rats of Tobruk Pipe band on the back of a flatbed truck travelling down Swanston Street in Melbourne, Australia. David Olney was the cameraman and he had the whopping budget of $380 to shoot this video.

Hey, Darlin’ (your Southern auntie here). It’s a bit of a tangent, but if you haven’t watched the movie School of Rock, you may actually find it educational. This song is highlighted in it. BUT Jack Black’s character explains genres, various parts of being a musician and the music industry. Might be a good lazy day view that I think you’d appreciate now that you’re well into your music journey. Thanks, hun.

Getting stoned = getting rocks thrown at them, not getting high One night stands = one-nighter shows vs multiple nights at one location (which are a lot easier on the touring musician)

Getting stoned isn't about having stones thrown at them. If you notice the second time through he says getting stoned, second hand. That's referring to the fact everyone in the audience would be smoking dope. In the 70's any indoor venue would be smoke filled. So it was believed that you would get stoned from all the pot smoke in the air.

Saw these guys so many times live as a teenager in Melbourne Australia in the mid 70’s with the one and only Bon Scott. He oozed charisma and had the crowd eating out of his hand. I would never go to see them now with Brian, I saw them at their best and he will always be their frontman to me. Our teenage brains were blown every time we saw them which is why we kept going back! So lucky! This is filmed in my hometown of Melbourne in Swanston St.

You gotta love Bon Scott! Legendary frontman that we lost too soon. But these boys honoured his memory after he passed and released the second highest selling album of all time in the same year. Legends! Check out "Let There Be Rock" 1978 live at Apollo Theatre to see these guys blow the roof off the place. By the way, this was the right video and it was an awesome reaction. Keep rocking!

Excellent reaction. This one song by one of the greatest bands now and forever. Song makes you feel free by the time that solo is done. Remember we were in school, with friends partying to all these songs. Good times in the 70s and 80s and 90s.

Hi, this video was filmed in Melbourne Australia in 1976 even before the internet existed. It was filmed for a music TV show named Countdown and filming costs were less than $400 Australian.

Saw them in 1973 outside the Royal Exhibition building in Fitzroy Melbourne, I was 12 and it was my first concert! ps: Melbourne is the only city in the world to win World's most livable city 7 years running and was recently voted friendliest city in the world. This video was shot in the heart of Melbourne down Swanston Street. Inside joke, all us school kids used to sing: It's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll.

This is Bon Scott's song. He did odd jobs. Was a roadie and limo driver. When the singer for AC DC didn't show up he jumped on stage and started singing. He was alot better then the singer that didn't show up and they hired him on the spot.

You were probably watching the right video, but not really a live recording. This was a promotional video for a local TV show......but quickly became a classic and must watch. AC/DC is a live band......and at their peak with Bon Scott, before they made it big in the USA. If you want energy then their live at the Apollo videos are probably the best, but also raw. I suggest Let There Be Rock, live at the Apollo.
