Some of BTS' older stuff and most live performances don't have subtitles, unfortunately. There is a version of this with English captions but from what I understand, a lot of the bars are on the non-sensical side because RM was just focusing on wordplay (I heard that's why it's called Joke). Plus, there are a ton of specific Korean references and slang that can make the lyrics extra confusing. So you might be better off just enjoying the sound of it. 😁

Just my opinion army’s but I think joke is basically a comeback to all of those who said he wasn't a good rapper because he couldn't rap fast, in this video he obviously proves them wrong but while he is making a lot of disses there really is no meaning behind all of them and he did that on purpose because he wanted to prove that rapping fast doesn't even mean anything if you don't have a good flow. people would try to shade his rap skills, saying that he had no flow and no speed. So he made this track as a "joke" to show off his flow and speed, and in it he also shades back at that criticism by pointing out that you can rap as fast as you want but if you're just saying nonsense, what's the point? Hence some verses like 'bibbidy bobbedy', he was mocking the rappers. RM's flow is not only nice, it's intelligent and in ways I don't even fully understand because you'd kind of have to get Korean culture and sayings to fully grasp the wordplay. Personally I think he's in the hospital in the MV because he is a "Rap Monster" so they have to contain him, if that even makes any sense.

RM has the flow,vibe, stability & speed. He's an amazing rapper. He was a underground rapper so it explains alot why he is so amazing.

I don't want him to experience things like that anymore, you grow well and I can't explain in words how much effect you have on my life, V said in an interview that Joon doesn't have to be the leader like he is. He is the link between the company and the guys and he tries to make everyone happy. He takes every mistake and like rumor or bad word on his shoulder and tries to fix it and even though he could be cocky about all the credits he gets for writing music or for being the leader of one of the best groups out there he doesn't.He doesn't put himself first. He puts the team. He had to learn to dance even though he could say "F it I don't have to do this much it's just a stupid choreo I can just rap my part and be done" he does work hard to be in sync with the others and has many injuries in the past but still keeps going. Namjoon talks really deep in the lives he does on Vapp or even the songs he writes and is not afraid to show that he is flawed and that is okay. I have so much respect to Joon and I don't like to put pressure on him to be perfect cause his position as a leader does on its own. I just accept him for who he is at any time. Immature, tired, grumpy, sad, dorky any side is Joon. People put so much hate since Day1 in Joon and still bring out his past mistakes and always try to drag him but they forget he is still a Human. Rm, was an underground rapper named: Runch Randa,(Largo, The Nexist, Stealo if I'm not mistaken)at the age of 14/15 and everyone was afraid of him (he didn't even know how to tie his laces then) All I want to say is that this man is a legend and is made to be a rapper. 👏👏👏

Fun fact: he did this while being unable to breathe. He was born with unusually small nasal passageways and later came out that he was having a particularly rough time being able to breathe but pressed on for Army’s (their fan base). About a year later or so he ended up having surgery to enlarge his passageways due to the fact that he was unable to breathe during everyday life, much less performing. The fact that he could sit here and spit like THIS while being unable to even breathe properly is just fucking WILD to me. He was on another level
