I remember Air Assualt. My nerves were buzzing as I waited to drop backwards out of the chopper. Soon as I hit the ground I ran to the portajohn and took a dump 🤣. Camp Blanding, 2017

Went to Air Assault in Fulda, Germany, remember how heavy the ropes were in the rain. Had guys not get a strong enough first bound away, got a piece of their helmet on the floor 😂😂😂

Hell yeah. I went through Air Assault school at Ft. Drum back in 97. That was the fun part. The road march sucked.

FYI - It's rappelling - with an "a" not an "e".

Good LORD how many harnesses do they wear now?!? 1/17th Air Cav 82d ABN 81 to 85... Harness = 1 piece of rope that you tied into a swiss seat. No figure 8 carabiner, no safety harness. Just stand in the middle of the bird and try really hard not to fall out before you're hooked into the SINGLE rope, and never let your brake hand over to the other side of your body. Same thing for Australian (head-first rappelling...), just with the rope harness tied the other way and the biner in the small of your back.

How come yall use two ropes?
@bryans1581 Жыл бұрын
It's for safety. Two ropes create more friction during the rappel. This prevents you from descending too quickly, especially if you have all of your combat equipment.

Ain't none of them got a weapon. You train like you fight. No rucks, no weapons or ammo? Just rappel, and act like everything is all good. Not to mention, she stopped halfway. If this is the new Army, I'm glad I got out. If this were combat, she woulda gotten popped. Train like you fight. This shit is why Veterans get pissed. If Gen Austin sees this, he's gonna rip your command. You're MPs, you know better.
