This company is shady AF. They are constantly asked if they are made in America, but they won't admit their radios are made in China. Not a big deal, but if you bring up the fact that they come with a prepaid $50 SIM card and if you want to keep them running after a year, then you have to buy another $50 SIM card per radio - they BLOCK you from their page. They advertise that there is no monthly fee - which is correct to the LETTER, but in the spirit of advertising, it's a violation due to the fact that they don't tell you that part up front. I give them a BIG thumbs down.

Just like the old Nextels, they need cell towers.| The towers go down, Rapid Radio goes down. But the less costly handheld ham radios keep working. Can you say "SCAM?"

biggest diff on these over old nextel, zello etc is these use service from all the major cell companies, instead of just one.Lose signal it searches for the next system. Annual fee of 50.00 per radio (about 4.16 a month per radio) Not bad at all in todays market. And almost all radios these days are made in china or taiwan,if these were made in usa they would be 5 or 6 hundred each. they work as advertised. I do know folks that use them, and no gripes.

It’s dependent on having cell service. Their advertising is misleading in my opinion. Definitely not a good option for shtf grid down scenario.
