If you look up these radios on KZfaq, you'll see that half of the videos on them have comments turned off. They don't want anyone to know that they lie in their advertising.

Good info Don. Please do an update on these after you guys have used them for a while. What works, what doesn't work, likes/dislikes.
Thank you for this video! My family lives on the coast and these would be great if they can’t charge their phones after a hurricane. (And yes, before anyone comments cell towers usually stay on after a hurricane thanks to battery backups and generators.) would love another video update on how they’ve been working for you guys. Appreciate it!
Or a hurricane knocks out cell service! These REQUIRE cell service! @@joeschnell5695

Hello Don! I’m very familiar with Nextel from many years ago and loved them…and mostly bc I used them free with the company picking up the tab! However, as interesting as the Rapid radios seem to be, imo, they fall way behind a lot in what I can do with my Inrico T-320 network radio. You answered one of your comments stating the name of your employee has to be pre-programmed from Rapid before you receive them…so, what happens when an employee quits? You gonna just give the ‘new guy’ the ex-employee’s radio with ‘you’ having the job of remembering which radio the ‘new guy’ has? With my T-320, I can program it the way ‘I’ want it…my T-320 is the same type of network radio [only much better] as the Rapid radios are with the exception of me having full programming capabilities where YOU don’t. Currently I have two nodes programmed into my T-320 and can talk to any GMRS linked repeater all over the country in the same exact way Nextel did years ago. As far as NAMES are concerned I can also program the location of every repeater I talk on not requiring it to be pre-programmed at another unneeded included price. You also mentioned the Rapid radios “weren’t very expensive” …personally, I don’t call $299-$899 ‘not very expensive’. Granted I paid $200 for my Inrico T-320 but considering what ‘IT’ does in comparison to the RAPID radios I, imo, feel people are getting ripped off with the Rapid radio. You also mentioned in the first of your videos that I watched you sent all of them back due to a lag and delay in communicating …I ‘have’ no problem with my T-320 you spoke of. You provide a very good video…I just don’t feel Rapid radios are as good as your making and editing KZfaq videos are! I’m a KZfaq creator myself … TOTALLY RELAXED!…and know when I see a good edited video. I just hope for ‘your’ sake your Rapid radios continue to deliver what you bought them for. Have a blessed and great day! ~Jim~

Just used today. Clear , none to hardly none delay. 150 miles apart.!! Downside for those seeking “ off grid” coms, these work off cell tower, not sure if during an emergency( your cell phone service provider disconnects , would you still be able to use these?)

Cell tower operated. You need cell service. It's push-to-talk over cellular technology, if towers go out, they won't work.

How good are they when the grid or cell towers go down?
@KleoGraham4 ай бұрын
They didn’t lie about radios, lte is cell phone towers, just as your phones ring when two cell phone get close, that’s why it was a delay in the frequency because radios are to close to one another. I believe the radios are worth it!
@Ranglin19755 ай бұрын
The idea of the radio is good but if the cell towers are down they will not work. Kinda defeats the purpose of a radio. Just call from your phone.
@donuli72225 ай бұрын
Your right but cell towers dont go out much. We can use our phones but this is a faster way to communicate.
@kendrickgreen73234 ай бұрын
Duhh if the cell towers are down your phone will not work either!!!

The primary purpose of radios is easy communications. In a work environment having to pick up a phone and dial a number and wait for the other person to answer is a massive pain. Having a radio that you can reach any time and/or talk to dozens of people at the same time easily is the main goal. If you're concerned about communications during a disaster then you should be looking at ham radio.

This company is shady AF. They are constantly asked if they are made in America, but they won't admit their radios are made in China. Not a big deal, but if you bring up the fact that they come with a prepaid $50 SIM card and if you want to keep them running after a year, then you have to buy another $50 SIM card per radio - they BLOCK you from their page. They advertise that there is no monthly fee - which is correct to the LETTER, but in the spirit of advertising, it's a violation due to the fact that they don't tell you that part up front. I give them a BIG thumbs down.

Dude you made your worries loud and clear already. This would be perfect for my family, even if I need to buy a cheap prepaid SIM card every year for each radio. 50 bucks for an entire year is cheap in this economy. Go troll somewhere else please.
