The dam looks to me like it is performing quite well, however. The backed-up water has found relief around the West end of the dam, through the transformer substation and over the bedrock on that side of the river. We now know there is about 15 feet of dirt on top of that bedrock. Too bad the emergency spillway wasn't designed to handle the excess water that this condition imposed on it. But now we know where an adequate emergency spillway should be constructed.

A large share of the money in the aid bills is spent in the United States, paying for American factories and workers to produce the various weapons that are either shipped to Ukraine or that replenish the U.S. weapons stocks the Pentagon has drawn on during the war. One analysis, by the American Enterprise Institute, found that Ukraine aid is funding defense manufacturing in more than seventy U.S. cities. The "money given to Ukraine " is creating jobs in the United States most of it is not leaving the US. It's being use to upgrade our defense that needed to be done anyway.
