Believe me, homophones are easy. Everyone can do it if they tried just a little bit. But, Eminem is so fucking talented when it comes to schemes. He tries to extend that particular scheme and not just end it with one or two lines. Here are some homophones that I thought of: in greedy ends/ingredients, ask her later/escalator, ill on/Elon (Musk, tesla/spacex theme), utilize/you till eyes, banger/bang her, insect/in sect (religious theme), atmosphere/at most fear.

@@Portthefirst Yeah, Eminem's scheming is insane to me. To consistently stick to a subject throughout a scheme takes serious skill. Not to mention Wayne, but his punchlines are recognized as golden, but I've never even heard him be able to scheme like that, and do it so consistently. Then again, Eminem recently released songs like Never Love again and Darkness, that just takes scheming to a whole new level.

@@winstonbarendse3647 that's why I have Lupe Fiasco as my favorite lyricist. His extended metaphors has been always head and shoulders above the rest. No other rapper (that I've listened to) has done something like that. Wayne has 1-2 liners that make you say "wow, clever" but that's all to it, nothing more. Em is definitely a better lyricist than Wayne, no arguing here.

That would be an entertaining battle (well, not battle per say, as I think Eminem respects Lupe way too much for actual beef, but just as a sparing match for people who enjoy clever and witty metaphors).

From someone who’s been listening to Eminem since 1999 and rap in general since 1996, I can honestly say the “new” Eminem is better than the “old” Eminem. And saying that, old Em isn’t bad BY ANY MEANS just all these years later he’s still elevating his game. If he’s not on your hip- hop Mt Rushmore you’re tripping.

Might be a stretch, but I can't help it cause I'm a Lupe fan and we tend to overthink things seeing how his brain works, but the "cap it'll punish" is a reference to Capital Punish-ment from Big Pun, the album and the song itself. I think it is because of the song Capital Punishment from the album Capital Punishment because Pun in this song has a line like this: "Judge singin' death penalty like it's his favorite fuckin' song" and it could be connected to this law scheme Eminem used here, maybe Em tried to reference Pun. Might be a stretch easily, but this is what I thought when I heard it first.

Although revival did get some unfair critism to a degree, You've gotta say. His flow has elevated to a Brilliant level since and his punchlines for the last 2 years really have been much better too. He is flowing so effortlessly and raps like a 20 years old. On revival à lot of times he seemed out of breath which is normal at his age but now he must work like crazy vocally to reach that level of simplicity and ease with his cadence. This is an almost 50 years old guy rapping like an up and coming teenager

Revival was really wack but a lot of it was due to the subject matter and the Rick Rubin production. His syllable schemes were still top-tier on that album.
