For Mio's 'tiny steps' it's referring to her iconic 'Mio Step' dance moves that are small rapid steps!

Since you asked, nearly every frame in this MV is a new reference, so I may miss a lot. The loading screen island: -Is modeled on a game controller - seems to be PS1 or PS2 by the general shape and button placement (the nubs on the bottom suggest Playstation joysticks; X-box and Nintendo controllers tend to streamline the joystick housing into the grip; PS3 had a more pronounced shoulder and PS4&PS5 both had the center touch plate) -Seems to be in an aesthetic style similar to Super Mario World -The four quadrants are for the 4 girls: South-West is Korone's chocolate coronets (Korone=coronet); North-West is Okayu's rice balls, North-East is Mio's shrine, and South-East is Fubuki's corn (the Japanese onomatopoeia for a fox bark is kon-kon, which sounds like "corn-corn") Fubuki's Solo: -Gameplay is obviously based on classic 2D mario. -The transition from the friend cheer to the fishing is reminiscent of Gen 1 Pokemon -The gold fish she hooks is a shiny Magikarp, referencing her infamous grind for a shiny Magikarp, spanning 119.5 streaming hours and somewhere between 11k-13k regular red Magikarp before she got her shiny gold (the average for shiny Pokemon is 1/8192, so she was far past the "average" expected encounter rate) Mio's Solo: -Gameplay based on classic visual novels. -The transformation is based on Altered Beasts, eventually transforming into Mio's stand, Hatotaurus -The following gameplay also appears to be based on Altered Beasts. -The "tiny steps" are based on the Mio Step, which is a dance move that Mio does a lot where she shakes her hind leg in rapid small steps (not dissimilar from how a happy dog shakes its hind leg when scratched) The "Icon Explosion" pre-chorus -As mentioned, the 4 girls are in Mega Man pixel art style -I'm not going to list all of the pixel icons that explode from the center, but my favorite that I didn't catch at first watch is a game pad bra Chorus -A lot of this will be in higher detail later, but the blue select menu in front of Okayu is based on the early Final Fantasy combat menu Bridge: -You already caught this, but... -G=Mario 1-1 warp pipe area -A=I'm not sure if this is Undertale or Dragon Quest (hard to tell) -M=Mario Paint -E=Breakout -R=Pac Man -S=Pokemon Okayu's Solo: -I actually didn't recognize the gameplay for Okayu's. The closest guess I have is Donkey Kong Country Korone's Solo: -As mentioned, gameplay is in DOOM style. It should be noted that she's using her favorite chainsaw (wow). -The King Charles (the breed of dog Korone is supposed to be) was a nice touch -Segues through Mario Paint when talking about her strange intonation and accent and how she stresses odd syllables -I _think_ the bullet hell she ends up in is supposed to be referencing Gradius. I'm not aware of any other culturally relevant side-scrolling bullet hell from that era (most others were vertical scroll. 2nd Chorus: -The purple Gameboy cartridge that Okayu is on has its title written in the Dragon Quest font. (It reads "Waku-waku Dungeon" or "exciting/heart-racing dungeon") "Bonus Mission": -As stated, Fubuki is ready to beat up the SF2 car -Korone even strikes Akuma's iconic pose. I know there were recent clips floating around of Korone getting VERY excited when using Akuma's finisher in SF5 -I think you sufficiently covered all the Star Fox references :D Ending: -Above the Mario-esque victory castle is a PS1 controller.

Such a fun song and MV! Glad you reacted to it ^^ Really liked Korone doing Akuma's finisher on the car and the megaman style sprites. Those were my favorite gaming references in the MV. My favorite part musically is Okayu's. But all of them are great tbh :D

I loved Korone's Raging Demon for the car destruction, especially since, shortly before the release of this video, she had actually managed to pull it off in an online match in SF6.

The Mio line with the tiny step is a reference to her signature dance move where she makes taps on 1 leg to a beat.

Starfox 64 was my jam growing up, would go over to my grandparents since they owned an n64 and would 0-100% the game before I had to leave with my parents any time we visited, same with OOT. I owned the SNES and the first game I ever played was super mario world, before I could even speak my parents put the controller in my hands.
