Hwa Sa was slated to be the original rapper of the group. And, yes, she and Solar taught Moonbyul how to rap. The company decided to make Moonbyul, who had trained as a vocalist and wanted to be a vocalist, the rapper. They felt she had the weakest vocals in the group and they thought she would be over shadowed by the rest of the group. There's also the fact the Solar and Hwa Sa were such good vocalists they thought having either them be the rapper just didn't make sense.

Rapping isn't only about speed you know. It is also about flow and just because it is a bit slow doesn't mean it ins't rapping. Rapping can be in every speed but it's definitely Rapping and not singing. You can clearly make the difference between the tone Jisoo uses when singing and in the pretty savage rap. Nowadays people call anything singing when it is slow 💀
