Yep, that would be a 20-year span then, between 1980 & 2000. Portland got Sabonis too late due to underage, injuries & the Cold War. Portland also got Shawn Kemp too late, already fat & older.

Thanx for another rarity man! Young Sheed was really special. It's so weird those Blazers being the deepest team in NBA history couldn't handle prime Shaq in the playoffs.

I actually almost met Sheed, but I didn't know him at the time. He was at our Frys Electronics doing autographs some time in 1996. Me being an electronics guy went into Frys & saw the booth, saw him, there was a short line there, but didn't know who he was, so I kept walking, only realizing later he was going to be part of my favorite NBA team.

@@anko9777 how'd you take that from what I said? Shaq will tell you himself that bus was co driven. The best 1-2 punch ever. When Shaq was the quote on quote bus driver then what happened 94-99 before Kobe became Kobe? Sweep city. As a matter fact prior to 2000 Shaq led teams couldn't even get a road win conference finals or finals until Kobe. Co driver.

@@jcchambers7896 idk bout the super team. I feel like if its gon be that. We gotta put it more so on performance than what they were perceived as. Cuz there was a few older players (still balling) that was just playing at a high level. But then again i was young af watching this so back then idk how everybody was truly perceived. Its an interesting conversation though
