A little mob, or rather, mob movie connection to that is "Summer of Sam" was written in part by Michael Imperioli who, of course, played Christopher Moltisanti in the Sopranos, and Spider in Goodfellas. He wrote it alongside Victor Colicchio and then of course Spike Lee added his touches to it.

I'm a Catholic at 56 years of age and I'm not a church fanatic, I don't go every week but I know deep down that my faith is strong and not up for question. My morals are steered by my faith and so is my compassion. Its funny but I never realised why I'd pick up a purse ( which happened on more than one occasion) and I'd get it back to its owner because I knew deep down I'd get no joy of spending someone else's money. I work outdoors and a old man/lady would come out on the step and I'd give them 10mins of my time knowing I could be the only person they would speak to on that day. Am I the prodigal son...no far from it but I'd question why I had this moral compass and it comes back to the same thing, my faith.

While New York had Son of Sam, we had the Hillside Stranglers at the same time in L.A. Those animals killed a friend of mine, Lauren Wagner. We graduated high school that year, and they grabbed her a block away from her own house - which was two miles away from me. L.A. was gripped in fear like I'd never seen. Lauren was a friendly, popular, extremely likable girl and only seventeen.

I love Franzese and Palminteri. Years ago in my early 20's, i unkowingly worked for mob guys. Long story. The crazy thing is, i would always laugh and make fun of them because i thought they were goofy Italian guys who wanted to be mosters so bad that they talked that way and acted like mobsters. I was so young and naive. Turned out, they were mobsters. Mobsters that HBO made a show about. They were kind to me and i truly believed they respected me because i stood up for myself. I honestly had no idea.

God loves us, and he never forsakes us. At 23 years old I found Christ by hiding behind a church, while avoiding a speeding ticket. Ten years later, I had an overwhelming desire to go to a service there. I accepted Christ as my savior. Three years later, God gave me my wife, and the rest is history. I like telling this story at church. It always makes people laugh. I obey the speed limit now. I love hearing you speak about stuff. God has been a father to me. I consider myself the prodigal son. 👍

That was a awesome testimony. Our God is great. If Jesus can change Saul the hunter Christian killer Phrisee into Paul the Apostle whom wrote a very good portion of the new testament of the Bible. He can Change The son of Sam David Berkowitz and Michael Franzese or anyone else that seeks him. I wasn't even seeking the Lord when I was saved. I was attending a Baptism at United Penecost Church. The spirit of God fell on me like a ton of bricks. It change my life forever. There's a camp in Running springs called Camp Cedar Crest. It's a Christian camp and 90% of the men that attend look like there straight out of prison. But let me tell you. They love the Lord.

As someone who's studied David Berkowitz' life extensively (and also a Christian) David's childhood & pre-natal history was not as rosy as he claims. David was also into sneaking around & prowling & vandalizing property since he was an adolescent on his bicycle. He admitted in an old journal to his prison Dr. from the early 80's that he got off on the fact that nobody ever suspected him, not necessarily the damage caused. He had an innocent looking babyface which he USED to deceive/live a double life. He was also a volunteer police/firefighter buff as a teen who knew how to work a scanner and avoid detection. So you could imagine decades later secretly having the entire NYC gripped in panic was like the ultimate ecstasy. He became god in his mind. The power over life & death at his fingertips. It was also sexual in nature returning to the victims cemeteries & crime scenes, but i wont go into disturbing details. Regardless of how much guilt/mental illness was truthfully accompanying his actions, David most certainly ENJOYED doing it. (detectives found his letter/plan for a Long Island nightclub mass shooting/police suicide in his apartment after the arrest so i do believe on some level he wanted to end things on HIS terms) He had an interest in the occult/Satanism but we have ZERO proof he actually ever met up with any known Satanist's, occultists' etc., never mind helped him plan out crimes. A Christian repenting of murder does not cover for co-conspirator's. He was also too much of a loser/loner/drug user to believe his grand stories (we also now have mountains of evidence & receipts & even personal arson journal logs about this period of his life). He lit HUNDREDS of fires across NYC (and shot neighborhood dogs) before the year and a half long violence campaign. He started off with a failed female stabbing in Dec. 1975 before duping his former army friend in Houston to buy him the .44 while on a visit in spring 76'. (so they couldn't trace the purchase back to him under NYC permit laws) Berkowitz was essentially a one man terror organization. He actually became extensively involved with a Baptist Church near his military base in Kentucky shortly before leaving the army in 1974 ( His adopted Jewish Father kept trying to talk him out of it even threatening to disown him at one point). He has still peddled many lies long after publicly accepting Jesus Christ. Even lying to & emotionally manipulating families of his victims. I pray for him, I'm happy that he's attempting or making gestures to seek change, but his mind is still deeply disturbed. And he still has the skills of a MASTER manipulator. If you're not fully aware of his backstory, it's easy to see how he can pull a bit of wool even over seasoned vet's like Franzese. Not trying to slander, just saying use caution, prayer & discernment.✝💞

Sincere question! Idk, I think that when a person ends up in prison all those distractions are gone, and in that place wheres theirs no getting out, lonely, scared and uncertain about your future and existence, it is then when you hit bottom and theirs no where to turn, and the only one that's in your corner is the Christ that you have heard about throughout your life, and ignored! It is when you come to the end of your rope, that's when you start looking up, and seeking him, the one they mocked and disrespected, or never knew, but Christ is so full of compassion, grace and mercy, that no one can pluck you out of his hand! ❤ let's not be petty or judgementally cruel, let's rejoice in the soul that was once lost ,but now found!❤❤❤😊

I remember way back in the day that criminals would rather be caught by the cops instead of the Mob!
