Preemo didn't look too happy with the interviewer when he said their production is sparse lol
@sgtcreasegrease3 жыл бұрын
I always looked at it as enough and not overly fancy, or too built up. Premo was the master of that sparse, minimalistic sound, still is. I don't view it as disrespect imo but this was a different time.

the rare third verse to Just to Get a Rep, is it at all linked to Moment of Truth's Just to Get a Rep?

It's amazing. In 1991 Commercial wack-MCs were already a problem as Guru mentions

I remember during Step in the Arena they were getting boxed in as jazz rap artists which I believed irritated them. Thats why Hard to Earn and albums then on had a different sound. Preemo stepped his chop game up.

the interviewer snitched the sample anyway
@mirakworld4344 жыл бұрын
Yep and you could tell preemo was pissed! In the 90’s Gang Starr got a lot of law suits for sampling, hence why he made that interlude on moment of truth before above the clouds
@messiahblack48164 жыл бұрын
Preem still don't play that shit till this day son.....And rightfully so because at the end of the day sampling was NEVER about stealing all about feeling and artistry...
