I love how dark this video is. Nowadays everything is always brightly lit.

What a character! Puts on a record by a pretty obscure Cuban ‘dance’ band, boogies around in his wheelchair and then plays along on drums! His version of ‘Shipbuilding’ is one of my all time favourite songs. Interesting bloke.

He's really quite inspirational. His accident didn't kill his career. Takes a lot of strength.

Wyatt is an inspirational, creative, highly intelligent man and musician but even he's admitted that in regards to his heavy substance abuse in the early 1970's, his paralysis which came from that fall probably saved his life ironically from a drug overdose or waiting away slowly due to alcoholism. His paralysis forced him to re-evaluate how he viewed his life, how he would transfer his immense musical creativity and talent in a way that made sense and would leave an enormous impact.

French translation subtitles are just wrong...

Yes, it's a very loose translation isn't it?

@@timflatus ah I shouldn’t have been so critical. Anything that promotes Wyatt is fine with me. Had completely forgotten this comment. ‘Loose’ is fairer than ‘wrong’. 😊

If you want to keep respecting Wyatt and you have any education in science at all, stop watching near the end when he starts talking about astrophysics. You'll lose respect for him, sadly.

he's a poet not a scientist - hes challenging the conceptual frameworks of these theories in order to tease out fantastical narratives and explore ideas openly rather than shutting them down using a rigid logic. Different practices intended for different outcomes.
