@@arigoldberg3126 i visited Mass. for the first time this last summer. I almost got slammed into by multiple people off the left side on residential streets in Boston/Cambridge . Watched a lady pull out of her driveway in Connecticut only to drive down the block and pull a U-Turn at a 4 way stop and get stuck because her turn radius couldn't clear the people waiting for their stop, causing a huge traffic jam. we got stuck behind her and the person behind us tried to veer around to go around both of us? not quite sure what's going on in New England but jesus christ the people can't drive for shit lmao.

I’m 22 years old. When I think of a car that’s 50 years old, I think of cars from the 50’s. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that a car from the 50’s is really 70 years old, and cars from the 70’s are 50 years old now. I know I’m still quite young, but I already feel the coming of age. In my mind, the 90’s are still 10 years ago but the time has gone by so fast. To be fair, my perspective of time is distorted because I’m a history enthusiast and still think WWII was not too long ago

My dad was a highway patrolman in the 60’s and was called to a car accident that was quite bizarre. The car with the fatality (driver) was broadsided by a car where the hood ornament went into the drivers ear and pierced their brain. Edit: I hesitated to comment since it’s quite gruesome.

And that's, probably, why those were banned. Unless the car is a Mercedes/Cadillac/Rolls Royce, they somehow still get away with it.

@@vadim6385 I don't think they were banned, I'm pretty sure they fell out of fashion as fuel economy (and aerodynamics) because greater priorities. Edit: Fixed ornaments were banned in the US in '68 and Europe in '74. They've been spring-loaded ever since. Shifting customer tastes and aerodynamic considerations are the main factors behind their disappearance.

It’s funny because you usually see cars like this in museums and garages. You don’t normally see them detroyed

I'm surprised by how relaxed and calm everybody looks. Plenty of bystanders, and kind of too many police men are standing around, seemingly taking their time to process and appreciate this rare kind of scene. 😅😯

More than a few of these were straight up fatalities. The music makes it rather unsettling.
