RVP was the kind of player you expected to pull of a volley like the first clip. It looks easy enough but for a player to look over his shoulder and still hit that with pure accuracy is VERY exceptional. Many a professional player was presented that opportunity but couldn't capitalise. Those kind of hits immortalise a player. Look at the Dicanio and Zidane volleys. It's in your psyche forever.

van Persie is like Batistuta in Serie A, they were star players in the old team who failed to win the League but then immediately managed to win the League when they moved to a bigger team, but unfortunately that was the peak of their career where they only lasted 2 seasons either van Persie at Arsenal and Batistuta at AS Roma. I just can't imagine that if Batistuta had joined AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus or Manchester United in 1995, where he was still very physically fit, he would have become a monster.
