I have a 1980's Power Man Iron Fist Canadian variant where they printed the cover missing one of the colors over the entire cover. I asked a dealer friend of mine and he says he has never seen this error before.

There's actually been a raw public sale of the MT Graves edition of #6. It was a fixed price sale from 2023 for only $130 so seller likely didn't know what they had. There's also a 2008 reprint with the Graves sticker so be careful if you're looking for the original.

Also worth mentioning that issues 9 through 12, 14 through 20, and 23 all have painted cover art by Basil Gogos, which tends to add some value. Be aware that other people rendered painted artwork for early issues of FM.

On the FM#7. That's a great looking book for a 2.0! Spine split and detached cover. How did it get a 2.0? CGC's Guide to Grading Comics states on page 152, "A fully split spine in addition to a detachment cannot grade higher than a 1.8." I'm going to send all my nice looking 1.8s back in for regrading.

Because it’s a magazine, not a comic. At least from my experience, magazines get about a half grade higher per flaw type than comics. Like I always say, follow what they do, not what they say. And with magazines, that’s what I see them do.

I'm surprised the FM#7 wasn't saved for a Signature Auction. The only book with the "Lucky 7" to turn up in 64 years should have been hyped more. Put in on the cover of the Signature Catalog. Just saying

Great video as usual, Ryan. I've got a bit of a mystery on my hands that I was hoping you could help with (might even make for a good video). There is an Adventure Comics #45 9.6 (Mile High pedigree) on the current ComicConnect auction. According to CC and CGC, it's the highest graded and only 9.6 copy. However, GPA lists sales of two books (different registry numbers) in that grade. I can't find an explanation as to why ComicConnect and CGC are only listing the one single copy. Any idea why that could be the case? Is it the same Mile High book that just ended up getting re-slabbed with a different registry number?

Almost certainly it was resubmitted to try and get a grade bump and it just came back the same grade.

lol, yeah. Clearly that person didn’t see the 9.8 sell on comiclink for like $26k a few weeks back. They paid 7k more for a 9.6. Awful for them 🤷‍♂️. But that’s why you need to do your research if you’re dropping 10s of thousands of dollars

Ryan, I'm skeptical on the authenticity of the FM#7 stamp. I'm not saying it isn't the actual stamp but I would like to see more verification. You indicated the stamp was in the margin of page 17. Page 17 has no margin. It is completely taken up with a still picture from, "Monster on the Campus". Hoping the stamp is real but knowing the rarity why wouldn't the seller or CGC take a picture.

CGC doesn’t take pictures of interior pages. But the only way you’ll know I guess is to buy it =).

@@AutomaticComics The seller certainly can take a picture and the fact that he didn't adds to the skepticism. And the fact that the seller said it was on the interior margin when there is no margin on page 17. The size of the stamp is also suspect. Why would FM print 100 issues with the stamp and make it a 1/4 inch long. They would want kids to find the issues to get the lifetime subscription. Hope the buyer cracks out the book so we can all have a look. If I'm not mistaken the publisher James Warren turns 94 next month. I'll try to get in touch with him.

@jimnoonan5240 I could see them trying to make it small and in a difficult to find place so they didn’t have to give out the subscriptions. Given many people thought it was just a marketing ploy tells me that trying to hide the stamp a little bit would not be unreasonable. Also, I’m not clear why you think the seller did anything. CGC graded the book and designated it as a lucky 7 copy. Not the seller. They just gave me the info they had on the book. Also, very few people would think to take a picture of it. That’s definitely not something I would be concerned with. Plus the book is already at $2300. So I don’t think others seem to be very concerned.

Here’s the exact language if it helps. It could also be along the bottom or top margin near the centerfold I’m guessing based on the phrasing. “Yes, it was tiny maybe 1/8 tall 1/4 long, rust colored (old red ink). At first I thought it was a date stamp of “July 7”, and though that was weird so I looked closer, it was near or at centerfold nearest the binding in the margin. That’s the only reason I saw it because I clean and press my books, so I look for the center to put card stock in the books before pressing.”

I actually acquired a VERY rare variant 1970’s ASM key comic (maybe 1 of 1 in the grade?) last night that I wanted to contact you about, and then I see this video! Weird coincidence. Anyways, I don’t have instagram and don’t see another way to contact you. Let me know if you want to chat.
