After a night of wild partying at a friend's house, a couple wake up to discover the party's host has been murdered in his bed. A detective is called in to investigate, but his investigation is hampered by the fact that the partiers drank so much the previous night that nobody remembers anything that happened.
Remember Last Night? is a 1935 American mystery comedy film directed by James Whale. The film, based on the novel The Hangover Murders, is about the investigation of the murder of one of a group of friends. The survivors are unable to recall the events of the night of the murder because they were all too drunk. Remember Last Night? features an ensemble cast headed by Edward Arnold, Constance Cummings, and Robert Young.
Whale convinced Universal Studios head Carl Laemmle, Jr. to buy the screen rights to the novel so Whale could avoid directing Dracula's Daughter, as he wished not to direct another horror film so soon after shooting Bride of Frankenstein. Initial drafts of the screenplay were deemed unsuitable under the Production Code because of the focus on excessive drinking. The novel's original title was also unsuitable because of the word "hangover". Following revisions, the film was approved and was released on November 4, 1935 to mixed reviews and poor box office results. (Imdb and Wikipedia)

Nothing wrong about blackface; today they would call it a 'tribute', or a 'celebration'! The most famous blackface 'artist' was BLACK. Many blacks performed in blackface, and they weren't whipped into doing it. The actors did an excellent portrayal, at least for a bunch of rich kids with too much money and status. Please stop with the virtue-signalling!

Glamorus sets. Fabulous vintage classic autos of a by gone never to return era. Magnificent attire. Best of class performers of their time. It must have been wonderful to have such work as these actors had during the Great Depression.

Love any movie with Constance Cummings in it, she had that beautiful face, easy going matter and a sweet voice, must have been something to be one of the idle rich during the great depression when everybody else was suffering, I counted 15 stars and great character actors and 3 incredible automobiles

Did idle rich celebrate non stop around the clock during this era? Sparing no expense! Yes they did, according to housekeepers/servants I met working at a nursing home during the 1960's.

I had to laugh at the black-face sketch at about 8:40. Back then people could have fun without being vicious. But today 'certain people' start complaining about everything, even though they won't say anything about the Scots or the Germans or the French when THEY are lampooned (parodied?).

Michelle, why don't you just sit in a corner somewhere and have a good cry? It'll make you feel better, since you're whining about your own perceived image rather than caring about others.

It is very sad that blackface was entertaining back then...no wonder racism is alive and well to this day. Is that Robert Young?

Rciasm in the US now is almost entirely anti-white, and it is evil either way.. It is institutionalized by CRT theoriy in schools and expressed by violence and killings against people - for their white color now. Look at FBI statistics.

It IS entertaining, and blacks did it too. Today it's okay to don whiteface, but if you think blacks are not racist, or that blackface 'caused' today's racism, then you should go and look in the mirror, and consider the source. Study actual history and learn how we're all human.
