General Dynamics Growler M1161 ITV-111 LSV Light Strike Variant Internally Transportable Vehicle made for the United States Marine Corp. This was shipped to me to make sure all of the vehicle systems were working, he bought it from someone in Oregon and now that I am finished with it it will be on it's way toe the East Coast. This vehicle was designed to be transported in the V-22 Osprey or by the CH-53 or CH-47 helicopters.
It was fitted with a 50 cal. automatic machine gun on a gun ring that was mounted on the rear just over the rear wheels. It was to provide suppression fire to protect the shorter version M1163 that was designed to tow a 120mm French Mortar. These were classified as a light strike vehicle. They wear designed with a lot of "off the shelf" parts (Supposedly). The USMC acquired them between 2007 and 2012 and the program ended around 2015 after which the Corp sold them at auction. There were just under 500 made.
