Absolutely stunning, there are so many legacy bioreactors that could use a raspberry pi upgrade. What microalgae where you cultivating? I did my MSc on Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803.

I like the low-cost construction approach. I recently graduated with my bachelors of chemical engineering and have been considering algae cultivation as part of a larger process I'm designing and hopefully operate someday (side hobby). I would appreciate to know the cost of the sensors and computer parts you used. Also, would it be difficult to put together your hardware and software as a novice like myself? Not quite my area of study but willing to teach myself. I'm trying to keep my project cost low as possible. Need the budget towards safety equipment and material for some custom pressure vessels and heat exchangers.

Hello, its a generic 12V peristaltic pump you can get off ebay, I've just upgraded the silicone tubing as the one that comes with the pump can crack.
