Hi there! We are thrilled to share some of the highlights from Rastak's performances in 2023. Throughout the year, the band performed at various venues and festivals across the globe, including Canada, China (at CCTV 1), Malaysia (Rainforest world music festival AKA RWMF2023), the UK, Kazakhstan (The Spirit of Tengri) as well as the beautiful city of Slemani in Kurdistan.
We also collaborated with several other musicians and artists, including some exciting international collaborations, which helped us to expand our reach and influence.
2023 was an incredible year for Rastak. The band drew huge crowds and managed to showcase the beauty and richness of Iran's musical heritage to the rest of the world. We hope to see more fantastic music and performances from Rastak in the future!
About Rastak
Rastak is one of the most well-known bands in Iranian contemporary folk music, which formed as an experimental music group in 1997. The group seeks to collect, record, and interpret Iranian folk music for a global audience, incorporating language, culture and history merging traditional instruments and forms with contemporary rhythms. Since the beginning, Rastak has been trying to combine the regional sounds that are well known with those that are less well known to shorten the generational gap and create a geographical bridge in the music of Iran.
Rastak has taken part in many international music festivals and concerts held in Iran, England, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Sweden, the United States, Canada, Australia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Chile, Poland, Turkey, Georgia, Belgium, Oman, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Erbil, United Arab Emirates, etc.
