I had my guitars actually quite high in the mix and Took the mids out of the backing track but They did sound really close sort of by accident haha. And I double tracked the guitars aswell which I think made it even harder to tell them apart. thanks for the criticism Ola!!

I enjoyed how when he gave examples he changed his own audio to match what he was talking about. Gives a great point of reference for the bands/folks in the videos. He didn't have to but he did, that's a really nice thing to do.

Hey Ola! What do you think of starting a new series where you try to make a good sound out of equipment that are usually known for being bad gear? You see all the time discussions in forums, 50% people bashing them, while the other 50% says "you just need to dial it right".... I think it would be fun and debunk some myths :) I'd love to see you trying to get a great sound out of a Boss GT10! Cheers from Brazil. PS: I'm shocked cause I just realized I'm subscriber to your channel since March 2008!!!

you should do a series on giving exposure to more bands like brotality. not necessarily kid or teen bands, but not very well known bands that deserve more exposure.

I feel the same way......I wanna hear MOSTLY guitar. So many vids are mixed for entertainment purposes & that sort of makes hearing just the guitar tone harder.

It'd be good to have a budget epsiode, lot of people can't afford these rigs, so much of metal started from just getting your hands on what you can and making it work it'd be great to see a rate my tone based on people doing just that

I remember in like Metal Edge or Hit Parader magazine or something, way back in the early 2000's when Dimebag was still with us(rip D & V), the magazine had a contest to "win Dimebag's rig". It was a full Randall warhead stack with the 2 x 15" and 4 x 12" cabs and the OG 300 watt Warhead amp, I think also some pedals like a crybaby wah and digitech wammy-wah, if I'm not mistaken. It was a drawing with like 10 questions you had to answer correctly, one I remember was "what does the word pantera mean?.".. it means cat or panther or something. I sent in like over 50 submissions, through the mail, this was back when we had to mail shit in an envelope, there were no online submissions. I was so pissed that I didn't win, but later my brother got a Warhead amp and cab and it... wasn't great..

This was back when Dime was with Washburn guitars, the contest may have included a"Dimebag Culprit" guitar in the prizes, for some reason I am remembering that guitar too, maybe it wasn't included but whatever, can't remember.

Still baffles me how they managed to fuck up the Warhead. It's like, just take a Century 200, throw in the mid boost stage and a gate, add a bit of gain (just for better tone shaping capabilities, cause those old Randalls aren't really gain monsters by themselves) and you're golden! What was so difficult about that?!

Hey Ola, odd question but what is the best combination of riffs to play to get a good impression of tone? Some chugs, some trem, some lead lines? Sometimes my tone sounds great on like single note melodeath riffs but then power chords or like John Petrucci big chords don't sound nice.

That band at around 8:00 is a bit impressive, definitely has potential. Instrumentally sounds great, vocals need a little more practice but don't sound bad at all. Image needs to be worked on though most of all. Just some constructive criticism 😁
