It was a last second thing, actually. They forgot to give Quan Chi a fatality so they just rushed to come up with one. Ed Boon says it's one of the regrets he has with Deadly Alliance as far as the fatalities go. That's why they put better effort into Deception's fatalities, although Armageddon's ended up going the lazy route with create-a-fatality.

Most of these fatalities did well building up suspense, but concluded nicely. And the only reason the fatality that earned a 10 got that high was because it was performed against the only character with a tail, lol.

A fun fact about Kenshi's fatality; If you do the fatality to Kano, only his good eye pops out. Nice little attention to detail, especially for a game for the 6th generation of consoles.

Just wanted to let you know that I watched through a couple times and noticed there was no Kano fatality. I saw the part where he got hovered, but then seems to get skipped for some reason. Maybe just an editing mistake or something. Thought I should throw it out there in case you didn't know. Super excited for MK 11, definitely gonna be checking out the stream when it drops. He's always had the reptilian looking head. In the other games he would take off his mask and you'd see his true form like scorpion. They changed it to a more human like face in mk4 which Imo is his worst design. This design also does serve a purpose in the narrative.

Reptile's Shaolin Monks look is the best, but I like this one as well since story-wise it fit with the theme that Reptile was becoming more and more reptilian as time went on.

Quan chi’s fatality looks precisely like one of those Fallout 76 bugs with the floating head and that telescoped stretched neck connected to the body on the ground.. Now if someone could mod the game, they’d stop it right there and have the announcer say, “Quan Chi Wins! Fallout 76’d!!!” So yeah. I’d give that one a 7.6.

Ed Boon actually recently said that Quan Chi's head pull is one of his least favorite fatalities ever made. He stated that it didn't belong in the game at all and he still questions why they shipped the game out with that fatality.

Sonya's looks a little better on enemies with red blood, because the second throw up is blood and it being red makes it more obvious that it was a killer kiss
