Hello, Danny, I used to work in Brighouse and I bought my fish and chips from Bailiff Bridge Fisheries. It is in what looks like a hut just off Bradford Road, just over a mile north of Brighouse and about half a mile south of Wyke. They have a five star rating from customers, Bailiff Bridge Fisheries is well worth a visit.

Brighouse, great town, and they are the best you've reviewed Danny , brilliant, the secret as you've mentioned, the fryer knows what he's doing !!, I was taught all about the chipper,blanching,fish n chips,battered sausage frying when 14to 16 in summer job hols in my seaside home by a master,it had to be spot on.

My fish and chip tip, if you're taking it home and love crispy but vinegary. Set your oven to max and then only put the vinegar and salt on (in that order for adhesive properties). Then put it in the over for 2-3 minutes. Won't over cool everything and you have the salt and vinegar flavour but still the crunch. Winner, winner. Fishy dinner! I love how they have bread and butter. That's a great thing to have with a meal and these days, it seems to have been forgotten. i do like a nice buttered, floury bloomer, me.

That Irish curry sauce is next level. Fork in the fish is by far the best chip shop about. Brighouse has so many unsung food places that don’t get the recognition due to it being a small town. Villain bar is one of my favorites plus the sandwiches from north’s and czerwiks. Also the only thing we have to do with Huddersfield is the post code 🤣. Love the content Danny keep up the good work

I love the fish & chip reviews. Danny’s passion and he knows his stuff because he grew up in one! If there’s one thing he knows it’s the difference between a good, bad and indifferent chippy.

I really disagree with you here. He cant tell cod from haddock and likes overcooked fish. Plus, does he really know the gravy which he loves (and fair enough if he does) is made from granules and hot water?

@@ianthomas1060 what video indicates he likes over cooked fish? I’ve watched a ton of his videos don’t remember anything about overcooked fish? Gravy granules are also standard in 99% of chippys. I’m sure he realises that. Also, how do you know he can’t tell difference between cod & haddock?

LOVE Mushy peas... mum used to take me to the Vic centre in Nottingham when I was a kid and there was a pea bar, just peas with vinegar and/or mint sauce.... still eat it to this day! lovely. Great content as usual chap! 👍👌👏🤙🖖🤘✌🍻

Problem with beef dripping is that it has a tendency to ignite if over heated, as dripping is a fat, this doesn't happen with vegetable oils. Most insurance companies won't cover chippies who use animal fat.

@@rexochroy2 yes. its called a flashpoint. its low on some things (like light olive oil) and higher on others. if a recipe asks you to get the oil smoking in the pan, don't do it!

Nice to see a fish & chip shop that gives you the choices of regular fish & chip, small fish & chips, chip butty, fish butty. Makes life easy. Loved the look of the mushy peas and gravy. Overall the food looked good and great value for the money. Never had or heard of Irish curry.

I feel about "MUSHY PEAS" the way you feel about creamed corn. If it ended up on my plate I would be afraid this would contaminate my other food. Jarred baby food. Also as an American I want salt and tarter sauce on my fish. But that fish and chips look fantastic. You'd never get that in Wyoming. Fortunately I live near the coast of Washington. Love your videos.

Curry is now purported to be invented by the white British from the days in the Raj. I dont mean Rise of the Raj Indian resteraunt. Funny I applied for planning permission to open a Indian resteraunt in a very white place and the locals objected saying the smell of curry would not be palatable to them and lower the tone. Then numerous of them used to turn up for Indian cookery lessons. There fav was Onion Bhaji, Chicken curry, Basmati Rice and Naan.

Brighouse is in Calderdale as is Halifax, Huddersfield is Kirklees though Brighouse does use the Huddersfield postcode 🤷

I've never been in, might have to have a look. Dunno if you've been, but couple of good chippies I've been to before is The Golden Hind (other side of Brighouse) and Six Lane Ends Fisheries in Heckmondwike (small place for sure, but I've never had a bad fish and chips from there).

You'll probably like Brenda's Traditional Fish & Chips on Earl Way, Sheffield city centre Danny. She fries in beef lard. The pavement's very narrow outside though so you might have to walk a couple of minutes and set your table up round the corner. The Market Chippy in the nearby Moor Market is very good too. I'm not sure if they use dripping but it tastes like they do.

I live in brighouse and when me a family feel like a treat . We go to Hollingworth lake in littleborough . Try mr Thomas chippy , huge fish crispy batter . Probably best I’ve had away from seaside

Great video Danny went in there Saturday was on our way to watch Mansfield at Bradford called in that chippy but was really busy so went to Poundland for a sandwich because was pushed for time brighouse is a lovely place and people next time I visit it will be a non football day and il nip on train

Oh my God Danny. You put on salt and vinegar…then you add the curries and peas. What is it with you Rhino’s supporters? 😂😂😂. I tend to think the weird taste of the curry sauce may have somthing to do with the vinegar. Honestly, when you go for an Indian meal, do you put vinegar on it? I must say that the fish and chips looks beautiful. Keep up the great videos. Cheers from the Land of Beers (down under 🇦🇺)
