Im not sure if England is the same, but here in Ireland there are so many of these "gimmicky" burger shops that only last a few months before they go under. They dont seem to realise that all people want is a decent traditional burger at a fair price. Fancy burgers are well and good in higher end restaurants, but takeaway burger joints shouldn't forget what they are

It's exactly the same in England, unfortunately. Seems to be becoming very common, fancy new takeaways opening with fancy branding, decor and packaging, charging twice as much for food that is often lower quality. It's not just burger places I've seen like this, but pizza, chicken, chinese...

@joelarnold2394 it's crazy. All these places open with big hype and are lucky to last 6 months. In the part of Dublin, where I live, the most successful fast food places are the local chipper, the Pakistani chicken shop, and the Chinese. They have all been around for at least 2 decades because they do the simple stuff well. Then you have the franchise chains that last aswel, but I suppose they are different from independent restaurants.

He literally got the cheapest processed ham from the supermarket and tries to pass it off as salami. 🤦‍♂️ Way to many random burger places popping up all over the place trying to sell a £3 burger for £10 plus. Just because you have a fancy shop and give your food a fancy name doesn’t make it expensive.

Didn't do the place any favours - people either see the thumbnail and think he's whacked the price up by 50% during a cost of living crisis, or they watch the video and realise he charges half the cost of a burger for a slice of cheese.

I work in this area of Sheffield and have done some work for a restaurant on Eccy Road, the prices are high due to extortionate rates that are forcing places to shut down, it's really messed up because the customer loses, the businesses lose and the landlords/councils are winning. Alot of empty store fronts!!
