I actually find Zhongli's animation very fitting his personality. He's not a flashy archon, why should he have a flashy animation. Someone should make a tierlist of how much the animation fits the character rather than how much of a show they put up. Because in two to three days, most of us forget about these animations altogether. You don't even get to see them if you use the quick setup.

Justice for Beidou, she's WAY TOO COOL AND CONFIDENT only to receive a simple sidestep twirl 😭

I think simpler animations fit some of these characters better. Just like other people have also added, Alhaitham is a good example of this. Are his ingame animations flashy? Yes. But is he a flashy person? Not so much. In fact I think it was very in character for him to put aside his book and stand there looking ready to ask you "So when are we going?"(considering one of his party joining lines is "How long will this require, exactly?" I find it somewhat funny). I could make the same case for Diluc and Zhongli(though I understand why people wanted flashier stuff in Zhongli's case) I will say though, if I were to change one, I'd make Itto's have Ushi in it, simply because Ushi is too adorable to leave out. Otherwise, I think most of them fit well enough.

If Furina's animation isn't her sitting on a Water Throne giving the most snobbish Ojou-sama laugh possible I would be extremely disappointed.

Xiao's is, by far, my favorite animation. It's very fitting for his character, and the pose is also similar to the drip artwork. He doesn't need a flashy entrance, he's never _had_ a flashy entrance; he just shows up, and he's all business (except for when it's not business and it's just us asking him to taste-test Xiangling's cooking). We also don't get enough love for his left side, we tend to see his right side a lot, but not so much his left. It's also why I don't have a least favorite animation, everyone's animations are spot on for their characters, and some of them reference their respective drip artworks.

Surprised the most by Diona, Disapponted the most by Alhaitham, Favourite one is Kokomi. Also I would definitely love to see "what if Venti were released today?"

My favorite part of Xiangling's animation is Guoba ready to throw hands Kung Fu Panda style

As you noticed with Bennett, most of the animations are currently idles or skills. Why? Because Hoyo did only introduce a few fresh animations and hopefully will update at least all 5* stars in the future as well to have their own animations.

I don't understand why people are getting mad over these. Like they're party entry animation for crying out loud like an action equivalent would walking into a crowd or entering a room, you're not gonna get a whole animated cutscene for it and all of them are perfectly tailored to the characters

1. I was expecting more from Dehya give her something TT^TT. 2. Xianling jumping in with a side flip was cool af. 3. I love Nahida she just jumps in ready for action.

Wanderers is my favorite (paired with his "this had better be important" voice line), with Zhongli, Raiden and Beidou tied for last (it's all the same animation just with different attitudes). I got the impression Lynney, Lynette, Wanderer, Xangling, Nahida, Kokomi, Hu Tao, and Yao Yao had the most amount of effort in designing them. I wouldn't be surprised if they were some of the first ones they worked on and then ran out of steam as they went. There is an adage "done is better than perfect" that was drilled into my brain in art school and I sorta get that impression with the new animations.

I think Zhongli's animation is a perfect fit for his personality, how elegant slow turn and being the oldest, it makes him look very wise too.

i really wish that for some of them, they kept their cool pose within the animation instead of switching into a more generic one. i would’ve loved to see gorou keep that pose having thrown out the doggy general, and have yao yao keep the adorable pose with yuegui and have her wobble a little trying to stay balanced. i think some characters benefit from having something more simple, but a lot of them feel like they just lacked the time to come up with new, fun animations (which is likely the case).

As an animator, all of them are atleast an A or B, each of them are unique to their character's personality. Flashy/"wow" animation =/= good animation To me, the movements and flows are great

i'd love to see "what if venti was released today" It's such a bummer and as the anemo archon he couldve had a wayyy cooler kit! I'm thinking onmatched world exploration like floating and superjumping, a kit that actually revolves around music (like HoS from honkai but with instruments?) and swirlllll!!! I would say that Zhongli is disappointing even though I know it fits his personality. Even his trailer shows his cool side. Xiangling is the most surprising because of her back flip so she's in the top 3 for me. My favourite is definitely the cute and graceful Nahida, followed by Raiden Shogun.

The one that really disappointed me was Zhongli. You see if it was any other character i wouldn't have minded but Zhongli is a character that is known for having the best animations and cutscenes in the game. They could have done so much with him like perhaps he comes in with his charged attack or something like that. The one that surprised me the most was XL. I didn't expect Guoba to be there but I like the creativity. My favourite animation has to be Nahida. The way she comes in a swing and does a twirl while her eyes were gleaming was so good.

my personal opinion: as long as the animation is ON BRAND with the character's personality and how they behave story-wise (not lore-wise e.g: beidou defeating haishan or sumthin), it's great. and some of them don't even need to do anything to look elegant. i get what alot of ppl expected, like flashy animation, alot of movements, and a use of props. but the thing is... this is not apex legends, guys. get over it 🙏

Diluc and Kaeya's dissapointed me So much... I Love them both to pieces but it's so incredibly dissapointing because both of their Party screen animations are so similar to their idle animations. Diluc could do something cool with calling his bird and having it perch on his arm or something like a "Dark night hero" entrance or ready his Claymore. Kaeya could do a cool sword trick since his sword work is so pretty, or have one of his icicles surround him, or adjusting his eyepatch or doing other coin tricks like rolling it between his fingers, or just any other movement that wasnt the same as his idle animation.

Most disappointing for me was Kirara, she could had jumped on screen from her box form. Most surprising would be Keqing's as the teleport is actually really satisfying to see, not to mention you can actually see her throw the thing before she teleports. And my favorite is Hu Tao's, she simply had the best animation in my opinion lol.

My fav was obviously wanderer it just "fighter jet reporting in"😂 The bast for me is yaoyao i can't stop thinking about it it's just soo cute to see little radish bunny on her shoulder its sooo cuuuute And the most disappointing was eula i felt like they could've done so much with her but eh

Hu Tao and Yoimiya have my favorite animations! Both animations suit the characters really well while being visually fun and engaging! Yoimiya’s animation being cheery and fun with fireworks like Yoimiya is, and Hu Tao’s animation being silly, goofy and adorable like she is :D

if venti was released today, there are a few things I would’ve loved to see: 1) his c1 adding two additional arrows to his charged shot being included in his normal c0 kit. all the other archons have unique charged shot animations, so it only makes sense for venti to have a special one too. yeah, the damage increase is minimal, but so are the other archons’. 2) venti’s ascension passive that summons the uplift for his held skill should just… be a part of his skill. and his ascension passive should actually be useful? it doesn’t have to be gamebreaking, it could be a decent energy recharge/elemental mastery boost to himself or a small boost to the whole party. 3) his animations for his normal attack string also feel very basic. again, it’s not like you’ll ever see them in gameplay, but if you compare them to, say, faruzan’s, hers has more personality

Chongyun's is exactly like Benny: it's an idle animation. Honestly his is the only one I've seen in my roster that disappoints me, and I don't even play Chongyun. Feelsbad for the Chongyun mains 😔 At the end of everything, though, these are party select animations and I think the short succinct animations are the best. We don't need to spend 84 years in party select. I actually like how they've taken animations for certain people from their character trailers. Like, animations that otherwise wouldn't be used in game via idle/attack kit animations. IMO Keqing's is among the best. It's SO smooth 10/10

It would be easier to rank them if we put them all at F tier first, then move one level up for each quirk they have, one point for cool pose, one point for added visual effect, one point more if the visual effect stays lingering around, one point if they bring their pet or weapon, one point if they do something unexpected. That would be a more measured objective call I guess.
