The R.A. The Rugged Man Show (aka “Ignorant Long Island Guy’s Podcast”) is back, and this time it’s the official Battle Rap Episode. R.A. The Rugged Man is joined by legendary Chicago emcee Juice, one of the greatest freestyle/battle rappers of all time. Juice has participated in some of hip-hop’s most iconic battles, famously defeating Eminem, Rhymefest, Common, Kanye West, and many more. Also joining the show are Scribble Jam / King Of The Dot champion Illmaculate, acclaimed Wu-Tang affiliate Killah Priest, and producer Teddy Roxpin, who supplies beats for a few freestyle sessions. The four MCs discuss the foundational role of battling in the art of MCing, freestyle vs. written rhymes, battling as a rite of passage, insulting opponents in the most hurtful way possible, the evolution of battle rap from the 90s to today, and much more.
