Skyrim quests be like "I was on my way to the market and lost my book, I think I dropped it at the bottom of a dwemer ruin go get it" Chad oblivion quests "wanna become the daedric prince of madness?, wanna enter the Dreamworld so you can join the mages guild? Wanna make the grand champion of the arena suicidal? " it is at least better than starfield though

Ngl imma get shot for this, but I like 76 more than fallout 4, Infact I didn't like 4 much as i grew up on Vegas and the sudden change in environment from bleak and grimey to brail and industrial idk just threw me off. On that note i love 76 because yes theres city but theres sooooo much nature, horrors in the swamps and its an interesting concept

I'd say 6/10, which is pretty much just "serviceable" to me. It's not something I'm really itching to play again, but it's far from a catastrophic shitstorm like, say, Fallout 76 or Cyberpunk 2077 were at launch.

@@ivanjimenezmajestic3979 idk if it's your nostalgia or what but nah man f4 it's not pretty overall. I'm not saying it as isometric 2d fallout fan but just as a gamer. Wtf happened to quests in f4? It feels like expect main story line, there's 5 same quest to do over and over but in bit different places. It's not boring - it's annoying. Even F3 has way better stories to tell and more interesting ideas to do so. I gave F4 too many chances and last time I've just gave up. Literally I've googled for some "kill preston mod" just so he gtfo and leave me alone. Horrible game design.

Oblivion is 10/10. Memes aside, looking at it for what it was, as a product of its time- nothing even came close to its charm. Sure it may not have aged gracefully, but the landscapes, the characters, the music and ambience and overall theme it goes for is what makes it an all time classic and you can never take it away from bethesda, in my opinion, their best game.

It aged way better then Morrowind. Even with mods I couldn’t play that game for less then 29 minutes. Nostalgia will always rank that game higher then it deserves.

@Detective_L I guess the same rule of thumb also applies to oblivion. Tried recommending it to a few friends who tried it after the release of skyrim and the immediate response was that it felt way too clunky and outdated by modern standards. That being said though, the fact bethesda really put 110% into every detail in the world and role playing, really made it to me the most nostalgic and impactful game I've ever played. The amount of world building characters and stories that are told within its confinedes is what really made me fall in love with it as a game and evencall these years later, still has me coming back every few years to do a nice completion run to have a walk down memory lane

@alexcrowder1673 look. That's probably the biggest negative of the game. The fact there is full in depth hours worth of videos to help players trying to level correctly in oblivion tells you all you need to know about its poor levelling system. But yeah aside from that it truly is such a masterpiece of a game for when it came out.

YES. Can't talk about MW or Oblivion since I haven't played but Skyrim is my fav game of all times. Mostly because of the replayability, but it's that good if it made me create new characters to play again. Underneath Skyrim only Chrono Trigger and DQ11.

I don't think so. There is no roleplay, combat is repetitive, game mechanics are unbalanced, quests for the most part are made poorly, guilds have much to be desired. I played this game a lot myself, but I can't give it more than 6/10.

No. It has wasted potential. The main storyline is boring. The oblivion part is boring and generic too. The NPC's are being memed of for a reason. The leveling system is unrewarding. Yes, some side quests and guild questlines are really good, overral better than the ones in skyrim. but it's flaws doesn't make it a perfect game. 8/10

@@xWhiteScopesIt was published by Bethesda, but they outsourced all the work to Obsidian. Bethesda wasn’t involved in any of the writing or gameplay. Which is why the dialogue options feel so different. And why the DLCs are all worth getting.

My head cannon is that Morrowind was the last game Bethesda made before they started drug testing their employees. That game had some wild stuff in it and didn't shy away from taboo/ controversy. That's a huge part of good world building. Every BGS iteration after is more vanilla than the previous. Trying to appeal to a mass audience is great for paying the bills but that's about it. I hope they sell the rights to TES6.... Though I have no idea who would be able to do that game justice.... At least I have another decade to ponder this

Morrowind was my first open world and I’ve yet to play one that tops it. Modern open world games feel so stale and shallow. They’re just big for the sake of big, full of little “events” but no substance. In Morrowind, I found a living breathing world full of history and culture. Now, if only it got the same legacy treatment from Bethesda as Skyrim… imagine an updated Morrowind, just when it comes to visuals and combat. I’d pay for that rerelease in a heartbeat.

Not as great as Morrowind tho. Bethesda overlooked so much potential, and threw a lot of it away for the sake of graphics. They also had a weird recording philosophy, in which they recorded the character lines in alphabetical order of the characters

@@salvajeasp757 Look at the stat structures of all the previous Elder Scrolls, then look at Skyrim’s. Completely mainstream, and erases certain play styles, like spears and missiles. Some of the skill trees in Skyrim are completely nonsensical too, but that’s besides the point. On top of that, the substitutes for the Fighter’s Guild (the Companions) and Mage’s Guild (College of Winterhold) are very bland and rushed. All for the sake of slightly higher resolution

More nostalgia for me (Xbox 360 launch days were some of my favorite times gaming) and more refreshing to play with time passing and more recent time played on Skyrim That said hope to see the oblivion remaster with some Skyrim features this year. Maybe that will sway them even closer

I can see the good and the bad of Fallout 4. It has some really good characters, I like the VATS system and the settlement building is a personal obsession of mine (even if it doesn't fit everybody's desires in a post apocalyptic setting). The main issue I take away from the game is its writing, and the dialogue system doesn't help. If the game's factions had more outstanding pros and cons to them (like New Vegas), it would've been better. We also don't get nearly as many options to be evil as Fallout 3, which in a way does eliminate some of your choices. The idea of the post apocalypse allows humanity to revert back to the 'kill or be killed' mentality. A lot of people might take up to raiding or enslaving people, but it's clear that the developers of the game want us to build and not destroy (as much). While I like this game, I can't say that it enters the category of being 'great'.

story was mid, guns are offensively ugly, garbage redesigns, lore contradictions, LEFT HANDED BOLTS ON EVERY BOLT ACTIONS, they removed the rpg elements and skill mechanics of the previous games. they made it into a buggy yet shiny game for casuals. its an OK game but its not a good fallout game. its way better with mods, but Bethesda doesn't get points for community labor.

@@kiophoenix I've already said this a bunch of times, but Bethesda absolutely had involvement in at least some of the development. Likely not directly, but they did not just give Obsidian their IP and say "do whatever the fk you want with it, just have it done by this time". It's perfectly fine to "rank" NV as both a Bethesda game and an Obsidian game.

Yeah it’s bummer that people can get really overcritical & nit-picky on F4. Obviously it has flaws but there’s so much good content in the story and other parts of the game. The main story has awesome themes(with the Captain America/blade runner/terminator tone), carries the same family feeling from the first three games, awesome companions to add even more color to the story, rebuilding liberty prime, and the list goes on. The game has awesome replay value just like the others.

Morrowind - 10/10 hand crafted world, lore, characters and quests. Entirely free to do what you want and doesn't hold your hand. Fallout new Vegas - 9/10 for similar reasons to the above and below. Oblivion - 9/10 brough us a beautiful new believable world with some truly memorable mechanics and quests with phenomenal story telling. Simplified and not everyone was hand sculpted. Horse armour was dumb. Skyrim 7/10 - as an OG it annoys me that most of the world and areas were procedurally generated and then touched up, and all the RPG systems were reduced not enhanced. Launch was busted, content was gimped and it took modders to fix the game in a more noticeable way than any game before. This is where they begin shady practices you're all now bored of. Fallout 4 - 6/10 don't see the hype, yet more simplification to the point dialogue is the simplest it has ever been. Fallout 76 - 2/10 absolute shambles. Star field - 5/10 objectively a bad game still playing on practices that have been declining since Skyrim even.

I like starfield a lot more than fallout 4. The persuasion system and dialogue is a lot better than just the 4 choices you used to have. And you can actually tell people no! Far harbor was 8/10. Starfield id say is an 8/10.

@edwinfrerichs8674 Fo4 dialogue is pretty bland, definitely, but Starfield dialogue is just plain dumb in a lot of cases, and sometimes voice lines will be in the wrong part of the conversation. I also have only really found one companion tolerable in Starfield, compared to Fo4's 4 or so solid companions. I'm not just trying to hate on it, I mean I'm still playing it for what it does well, but I'm really disappointed in how far the dialogue and character quality has declined even from Fo4. Some of the lines I've heard are so weird that I legitimately think they might have been written by a chat AI, including some of the main character lines.

@st4rlightr4v3n4 I don't really see it being any dumber than fallout 4, but Bethesda's dialogue has never been their strongest suit. Neither has their stories, even though sometimes they do pull it off. As for their characters, uh. I can't really complain about them. They are a huge improvement over Skyrim's. There's a lot of things that I *can* complain about in this game or hell for Bethesda games in general, but I don't play their games for their stories or characters.

Not sure why people hate on Fallout 3. The Broken Steel DLC fixed the game for me in a big way. I've replayed them all from 1 onwards recently and 3 still stands out for me. Love the setting. It had by far the best atmosphere of "desolation" out of all fallout games, which I think is the most important part about post-apocalyptic games.

I’m playing fallout 4 rn 🥲 Yesterday I fought a battle with a ton of super mutant when the sun was going down then gunners came in after a couple hours of me on my gorilla shit and by the time I killed every gunner and mutant the sun was starting to come up

I see the Low INT NV builds have shown up not realizing they're in a comment section about Bethesda games not Obsidian. Even if it's true that it's better than all the Bethesda games that doesn't make it the best Bethesda game.

im sure if bethesda made Morrowind around the time they made Fallout 4 with the same story, same characters, better voice actors, better graphics, and with their updated engine, the game will be as good if not better than Fallout New Vegas. for its time, Morrowind was as good if not better. I lovee New Vegas but when I played the game when it came out, aside from the bugs and crashes, there were more issues i had with it than i did when i played Morrowind when it came out. but that's just my opinion. I still think both Morrowind and New Vegas are the two best TRUE 3D RPGs ever made in terms of how much i enjoyed it.

People think that Morrowind is better than Skyrim just cause Skyrim feels “watered down,” but bro, you can not say that Morrowind had the cultural impact that Skyrim had or is even equivalent I mean come on
