The "dungeon coffin thing" in home 2 is a ceramic tiled heater; found in many eastern European homes, they are fueled with coal and radiate heat throughout the home.

Hello , I was the owner of the last home , thanks for the constructive criticism I think it will help a lot . I forgot to mention that I only have one room which is why it might look a bit small ,I forgot to mention that I’m actually still a teen and living with my parents but I’m moving out soon so I’ll have a lot more space . So the tv was a prop for a photo shoot I did and the bar /cabinet will soon be replaced. Thanks again

Thanks for sharing sir. I might respectfully add that when you get your new place, consider having things that you want to be displayed on the same level. Where you had the prop TV, everything was irregular and on multiple pieces of furniture. Having one large cabinet that's a bit higher where you can display the items you often use or want to be seen will help a lot. Also I learned a lifehack that says on a table or surface, have no more that 3 items. This keeps it from getting cluttered and allows for you to only keep out what you truly want to be seen. That said, thanks for being so open and vulnerable with the community. We are all a work in progress. God bless you in your endeavors and with your new home!

Hi everyone. For those interested. I am the owner of home 1. I have a lot of emotional attachment to certain pieces so that's why they are all stored inside; Ice axe from climbing mountains, time trial bike from ironman triathlons, japanese curtains from travels in Japan etc. Originally the dining area was integrated in the living room but I've decided to open up the wall to have a more open space. There is no TV indeed, this is in an attempt to be more present. Coming home for me is all about relaxation and watching TV isn't doing it for me. I rather have people come over, read a book or workout. My time is very limited so I don't miss it much either. When a lady comes over we usually chat with a glass of wine and good music and talk about all the props in the house. By the way, the table is from Studio Henk, metal shelving from Bolia and the sofa from Furninova. The home itself is located in Belgium close to a city with a view towards a park. Happy to answer any questions or share more!

You have a beautiful place and I love how you display your interests and achievements. And I actually love that you don't have a TV. That, in and of itself, is a conversation starter. Well done. If I had any critique, I would have to agree with Gent Z about moving the bike to a more subtle area. Perhaps behind or to the side of the couch so that you and your company don't have to stare at it. Maybe add a nice cabinet with a piece of artwork or a large plant there instead. It's a very nice bike but the reason I say shift it's location is that, if you're using your bike often, they do get dirty and muddy at times and, personally, I don't think a dirty object deserves to be the focal point of your living space. You can certainly still display it, just not where it's directly in front of your eyes at all times. That said, you're doing a lot of things right! Your place is clean, organized and welcoming. You've done a great job! Thanks for sharing with us!

@@Gent.Z Yes, a movie projector with pull-down screen for movie nights, or for convenience with easier to operate, high-definition LED screen concealed by: - roller shade with a landscape or poster-art printed on it, that will look like picture art, but easily rolls up to view the HD LED video screen; or, - movie-theatre style curtains; or, - some kind of slide-away cabinet doors when not in use.

I was thinking of a projector but then it would bother me if I wanted to watch some Netflix on a Sunday morning when there is daylight. No way I want to close the curtains then haha. Having a pull down screen might be too obvious when entering the home, no? I’ve never really thought about it as I would assumed that it is too out there while I am seeking for more harmony, symmetry etc. Do you have a model or specific version in mind that I should look at? If I had plenty of money to spend I would rather buy a large cabinet and let a tv roll out of it but this is just wishful thinking I guess

I am not in that business anyway, but you can find your favourite choice of company with some extant designs, or find a company that will take a photo you made, or some vintage poster art you like, or painting and have it custom printed for you. * Some extant designs include landscape scenes, and you can see on ETSY if you type in their search box: *landscape printed roller shade* If you see one you sort of like, click on the vendor and see their other extant designs. and/or search box on presearch or (_ahem_) - google click on *images* and find something and some producer you like. Years back, when my partner and I got together, we resolved to aim to buy one nice piece of artwork per year. Over the 24 years we were together, we developed quite a nice collection. In fact, now that I am alone, I have too many good pieces to display them all and have selected my favorites for my walls and shelves. By deciding to allow yourself one nice piece a year, you free yourself to think of spending hundreds or even a few thousands now and then, which can yield some great items, often with a memorable story behind their purchase. I know so many people who, instead, decorate their homes with bland framed prints. These are fine when you are starting out, but in the long term, I find that it's better to have art that you can be proud of.

Plenty of lamps and/or sconces give off a much more pleasant lighting than overhead lights. Also, use bulbs with a nice warm glow staying away from cold bulbs which are harsh. Keep your place smelling nice with a good candle or a high end aroma device; I like the pura plug-in because it offers designer scents. However, too much fragrance can be overwhelming and off putting.

5:05 the one you see on the right side will the scope is a break barrel air rifle, you can (with enough experience) easily see it on this model, also I noticed what I think is tins of pellets on the window judging by the size of the tin I assume it’s a .22 caliber, the other one I am not sure about, my view is very obstructed by the plant, I am going for a muzzle loader of some kind but I am not sure, I can see that it is something fairly old but it seems not to be something that is grab it and shoot it. The air rifle might be dangerous in the wrong hands but is hardly lethal, I have my weihrauch hw57 next to my bed at all times (unless I’m shooting it). An air rifle is more to scare away people than to actually un-alive someone, if it comes to it someone with a good understanding of the human body and who can shoot fairly good will be able to un-alive someone but because it’s a break barrel you only get 1 shot, my personal best is 6 rounds on target (10cm target) at 20 meters in 1 minute so it isn’t very fast, in a house without children an air rifle is completely safe like that, even though I am hugely pro second amendment I am against leaving out any kind of fire arm or air rifle around kids, even leaving out firearms if you live alone is something that I have my opinions on but nothing really against but a kid should not be able to touch anything that shoots without parental guidance

The first place with the bike. That at a quick glance was an expensive bike and given other things like the ice axe in the dining room. Although for display purposes i would have taken the bottle out of the cage. 🤷‍♂️ Anyone worth his time to date will definitely appreciate those touches. Knowing what i paid for my bicycles if he doesnt have a solid storage unit. Putting it on display in his living room gives a bonus of security and shows he take pride in his belongings. Also the rifle that was out. Depending where he lives, it could be a security thing against animals. I grew up with loaded rifles all around, just in case a predator or two came around. Its a way of life. 🤷‍♂️ I enjoyed the video and seeing the way others decorate their homes, as well as your opinions. I didn’t send you any pictures but I’ll describe my bachelor pad for you. You walk in to the main foyer and on the right is the kitchen nothing too special there but just the usual stove, fridge, dishwasher etc. In the room behind that is my dining room but the dining table has replaced with a pool table and some art on the walls. Going back through the kitchen and into the foyer you’ll also see the back patio which has a hot tub and a sitting area. Now especially is a great time to be out there. Going back inside to the living room I have a plush couch with a side table and lamp on one side and my recliner and a floor lamp on the other. There’s a wood burning fireplace on the opposite wall with a TV above it and a few game consoles on the mantle. I also have some pictures of my city and some old cars scattered throughout. Going towards the back of the house I have two bedrooms. The master bedroom is where I sleep. I have a king bed with a mattress and bedding from the ritz carlton (don’t ask me how I got that). There’s my dresser and a small TV on the opposite side of the bed. The other bedroom is what i call my man cave even though I live alone. I call it that because it’s there I go to cut loose. It has a PC thats very overbuilt and can run just about anything as well as a chaise and a giant TV with a home theater system. And to top it off next to my gaming setup is a mini fridge full of beer. And that’s pretty much it. I keep everything very clean always and I’m very proud of my home.

Yes to carbon-fibre super sport bicycles, but definitely not in the living room. ♠Definitely *NO* to glass coffee-tables, especially oddly shaped or triangle ones. It is too easy to bump into, causing bruised shins and pain. Glass coffee-tables are very hard and uncaring, and stealthy by being less visible in peripheral vision, they're totally not cool! ♣ It is good to have some art, but also leave a space for the lady in his life to participate and make her mark. Let HER come up with the idea to add something there.

Boys, please don’t put your bed in front of a window facing away from it. Turn it 90 degrees from a window if at all possible. It’s completely unaesthetic and many girls will feel uncomfortable with a window behind them and it’s colder.

Hey guys, Im 20 and studying at uni. I constantly get ridiculed by the way I dress and feel bad because of it. I wear shirts instead of t-shirts, oxfords instead of sneakers, chinos instead of jeans. Imo it shouldnt be wierd to dress like this when you are an adult, but the people around me make me feel very bad about it. Idk what to do, should I change my way of dressing so that I stop upsetting the people in my life?

I’m sorry, but those masks are not only creepy but lack cohesiveness with the rest of the room. Love the vintage posters. The bedroom flowers look like cheap silk flowers and the bedroom reminds me of those cheap bed and breakfast bedrooms in London. That last one, it looks like a repurposed aquarium turned into a pseudo make shift bar.

some places have by-laws about showing drinking. I remember TV beer and liqueur commercials in Canada allowed showing the drink and/or the bottle, and at most, people holding it, but they were not allowed to drink it
