tbh i dont recommend low top shoes for beginners as ur probably gonna roll ur ankles frequently

hightops dont stop ankle injuries, in order to get actual ankle support out a hightop you needa lace it hella tight and at that point you’re hurting the skate-ability of the shoe. you’re gonna roll your ankle sooner or later so if you’re that worried bout rolling your ankle either do some ankle strengthening exercises or dont skate

@@argospanop nah i wear high tops and when my foot lands on the ground almost sideways it didnt really hurt, but as soon as i try low tops, same thing happened and i fucked up my foot. could be just a shitty shoe idk

In my years of skating not once have I not rolled my ankle when i get any new shoes, whether said shoes are high cut mid cut or low cut its just the process of breakimg in the shoes

I used pros for skating and regulars casually to school. The regulars stay new for a while when worn normally and I could buy them all the time. The pros saved my feet and lasted through torture. My mom would always ask "why do you use the expensive pair to skate when you are going to tear them up?!" 😂

Just use a DKL non-abrasive griptape and you will change your shoes once in a year

Dead ass think I’ve sprained my wrist more than my ankles just from trying to catch myself after I slip out but my sprained ankles definitely hurt a lot more than my sprained wrists.

I roller stake & wear wrist pads! They saved me during a couple hard falls 🤞🏼 I got the colorful ones to match my skates so I still feel cute with protective gear ahaha

Suede doesn’t last longer, it’s literally leather sanded down to the open fibers. It’s a cheap way to get the nubuck look

Theoretically suede shouldn't last longer, but in this case it does probably because the fabric is softer and doesn't catch as easily therefore less likely to rip and hole like the regular ones. But that's just a theory, a skate theory.

When you buy slip on pros go up a size, i literally bought some size 8, fit perfect untill i started riding literally squeezed and stretched my foot, so i threw out the pop cush sole and skated/bmx with no sole, fit better....hurt like hell

you can use any vans shoes pro's or not except the era and authentic(even the pro ones) they get shredded easily. tip: use insoles that are used by the old people, but causes a little $$$

New balance in my personal favorite shoes. Mainly because they actually fit me unlike pretty much any vans shoes. AND they were on sale so I just copped them and I love them

Are the insoles thick or thin? For me, vans doesn’t have enough room to feel comfortable with their pop Cush insole or whatever it’s called now. They’ve always hurt my feet because they felt too tight due to the shoe being small and the insole being so thick

Etnies Marana's are the best skate shoes hands down! I have no idea why anyone uses Vans for skateboarding anymore, their durability is notoriously terrible! 😂😂

I actually skate better in the regulars than the pros. The pros I feel like has rougher materials so it’s not as easy to flick.

If you haven't already, Go to your shoestore and have them size you. Thought I was in a 9 until I was 20. Found out im actually a 7½. Shoes being too big is often an issue if you find your shoes stretching out too much.
