Sarabhai is the Indian "friends" for me.I am not comparing the shows from script or concept point of view. But it is loved like FRIENDS after so many years.

Though Maya was shown to be mean, I loved the character. I love her disciplined way of life. Cleanliness and health. I do look upto her. But, the real heroes like Himanshu, Kaccha Kela, Dushyant and the other producers, whom I don't know the real name of 🤣 also deserve the credit.

Not only is she is a par excellent artiste, she nails the ugly creativity issues that they face perfectly! That's also another reason why I love her and Naseer; they call a spade, a spade! I can't wait to see her back as Maya Sarabhai; the best actor on the show closely followed by Roshesh aka Rajesh kumar.

4:55 RatnaJi, I am so sorry to know that. But mind you, I and my family watched the entire first season of Sarabhai during its first run, between 2004 and 2006. We loved it so much, and I looked so forward to it, and we hated the fact that it used to be telecast only on Monday at 8:30 pm on Star One. That was the only time slot in the week I used to look forward to (Instant Khichdi used to be telecast on Tuesday, and we watched that too). I remember I used to go for science tuitions from a nearby tutor, and used to run home on Mondays so that I would not miss a single scene of Sarabhai. I was preparing for my first CBSE Board Exams in 2005-06, and I never ever skipped your show even during my pre-boards. I remember the show awkwardly ended in March 2006, during my board exams. I fared really badly in my Social Science exam, as I was gutted to know the show had ended. I and my family have since watched all the episodes of the first season again, as well as watching the second season twice. There was a great connection between us and you, SatishJi, Sumeet, Rajesh and Roopa.

She is absolutely right. Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is the ONLY comedy show on modern Indian TV that is well-made and has smart comedy. That show is legendary and comes in line with old classics like Dekh Bhai Dekh and Zabaan Sambhal Ke.

Ratna is so right on the state of quality of Indian television. Reflecting back on the shows like Buniyaad, for eg., there was a vision to reality and story telling. We need that back in Indian television. There are mostly, only average soaps with average artistes. We need to boom the NSD actors back in real work. Good work done through this episode.

Good heavens!! This was so pleasing. Love the Sarabhais. While growing up we watched the reruns also as they wouldn't come up with season 2. They were still funny. I knew nothing of all that Ratna Pathak Mam said. How can people not see the potential in a cult and how sad it is that they don't get the money from it... N *special mention to this anchor*. Who's this girl! Haven't seen someone being so natural and genuine and actually taking a conversation forward so well in years! Such a delight and a perfect rhythm. This interviewer was totally unqualified to interview Ratna Pathak Shah. Just look at her expression when Shah talks about Sarabhai having a .63 television rating point at 5:03. The interviewer had no idea what that number represented. And a few minutes later when Shah was talking about how angry she was that the show's producers were making money in syndication and the actors were getting nothing, the interviewer looked like she had no idea what to say. Next time, do your damn research. Being a fan of a show doesn't mean you just quote lines from the show ad infinitum. You need to know the production details as well. That's what investigative journalism is. Kudos to Shah for putting up with this farce with such dignity, although I wouldn't expect anything less from her, just as I now know to expect nothing more from this interviewer. Sheesh.
