Noises in the ceilings, walls, or attic could sound like squirrels but turn out to be rats instead.
Ryan looked for squirrel entrances and addressed those but the problem continued.
After the noise problem didn't go away, he suspected rats. Here he caught one to make the diagnosis.
Rats often get in low on the house, in basements, etc. The rats come through drains and foundation cracks most often.
Differentiating between squirrels and rats can take a little time.

Agree, I had rats in the loft and used traps to get rid of them all. They were getting in through a hole in the ground and up through the cavity walls. I’ve put a cctv camera in the loft for constant monitoring, and not seen any for 3 months now. For squirrels problems the easiest way to get rid of them is to place a squirrel feeder outside to draw them out, then shoot them, if you have an outside space. I’ve got squirrels in the garden at the mo, and considering culling the numbers down to prevent access.

Can it be rats and squirrels together? Because we know the old Victorian mansion where I rent an apartment had a massive squirrel population chillin….. he eliminated most of it but your story makes sense!!!

Nope, rats actually get in through the roof. They get up there using the power lines.

Hi I live in an apartment building in Washington dc and I believe I have a rat in my wall I hear from time to time. After listening to what you said about the basement and stuff say they do repair it and close it what would be done about the rat in my wall ?

Most apartment buildings in urban areas have standing contracts with a pest control company to put out and maintain bait stations for vermin. Ask management if they do. They could address the rat issue before seal up. If the rat does get trapped in the wall...hard to say. It may chew its way out or just die in there. If it expires in the wall it wouldn't be a big deal for you at this time of year (not smelly, as it would just dry out). We don't deal with rats too much. A DC based pest control pro would be your best recource.

You think the local towns and care industry of health would do more as care home and homes leaving ex rubbish and glass over from bin collection day and day in day out the same what about if the care homes with our staff and volunteers and the poor residents of today can't say much as the council do nothing.i try and try again and in all I don't no why I pay them it worth more than this I said.Anyway had my say on this. I hope it gets better 🙏🤞

I’m about to go Lee Harvey Oswald on these little twerps…. It’s squirrels…. Please let it be squirrels… I can’t with rats…. Dude can they really come through the pipes???? Noooooooo
