As a kid, Ratt was my favorite band. I wore out Out of the Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy. Then I discovered Metallica and it was all over. When I hear the old Ratt stuff though, I see why my pre-teenage self loved them so much. That guitar sound was so much crunchier and heavier than the rest of the hair metal scene, I see why I liked them so much. This video and the Round and Round video validates my childhood. 😄

I'll scream this from the rooftops till the day I die, but Ratt was criminally underrated as a band. One of the things that a lot of people sleep on when it comes to Ratt and their music, Warren and Robbin would often play two different guitar parts, but they would seamlessly mesh together to almost sound like one guitar. Motley Crue got the majority of headlines and fans through the 80s, but Ratt was just a better band overall (lukewarm take). RIP to Robbin, and I fervently wish everyone could just bury the freaking hatchet and give us more Ratt and Roll.

But in that era there was Ed, Vai, Satriani, Slash, Mick Mars, Sambora, Lynch, Hammett, Rhoads, etc. And most of those guys are probably mentioned more often among rock fans as "great guitarists" ahead of Warren. I graduated HS in 1980, played guitar since I wuz 10, been in many bar bands and still play everyday. Mostly just pointing out I’ve heard a lot of music and listened to the guitar parts very closely. The short solo in this song is burnt into my brain, easily in my top ten favorites ever. There are some nice licks and timing but the kickers are the way it drops in, the way it fits over the rhythm guitar and the odd way it resolves. it’s prefect, Beethoven level stuff! I kinda wish it had been longer but that coulda messed it up. I always imagined Warren just ripped right into it “off the cuff” and looked around the studio afterward and said “how was that?”

Juan Croucier is an awesome bass player and his high range background vocals add so much to the Ratt sound. The intro to this song is legendary!!

Growing up during the time these bands were rocking and learning to play guitar at the same time was absolutely awesome!!!! Parties were never the same and the girls drooled over the guitar players!! Ratt songs weren't easy to learn to play as there is a lot of stretching and Robin Crosby had Frankenstein hands!!!! It's pretty cool watching you 2 rock out to songs I wore out in cassettes as a kid!!!! You can still rock in America, oh yeah, all right!!!! Rock on fellas!!! 🔥🤘😎

I was a teenager in the 80s and I hated hair metal. I was into Rush, Metallica, Maiden, Van Halen and ACDC. However, I always liked the early days of Ratt, especially their first three albums (the E.P. , Cellar and Invasion.) DeMartini always delivered the great, memorable riffs and they seemed more solid than the other hair bands of that time. And yes, I had friends back in high school who were guitar players who went to see Ratt only to see DeMartini in action so he was and still is greatly admired. Great reaction and also nice to see I wasn't wrong about Ratt!

Warren Demartini is vastly underrated and under appreciated.. Sadly he doesn’t get mentioned with the greats, and he absolutely is…Legend..

Of all the 80's metal bands, RATT had the deepest, heaviest grooves - with amazing hooks that just get under your skin. Warren DeMartini's was their Joe Perry. He had the best of all worlds - tasteful note choice, tone, and speed when it was needed.

Great Reaction guys! I got to see Ratt live on this tour on New Year's Eve in the mid 80s. They finished "Round and Round" the clock struck midnight and then their lead singer said, "Now, we're gonna lay it down"!!! Great show and fun fact: Bon Jovi was the opening band!

I love Ratt. I’ve been listening to rock/metal since I was five and I turn 51 tomorrow. As I got older my taste got heavier but this song and their first two albums are timeless classics for me. Love seeing you guys dig it as well.

Been an avid listener of metal since I first heard Metallica at 12 years old and I'm currently in my mid 30s. I listen to everything from power metal to brutal death metal to black metal. Ratt are all killer no filler. So good. They're lumped in with the hair metal scene in the 80s but I just think of them as straight up heavy metal/rock (my favourite metal genre). Glad to see you dig em!!!

Warren is the guy that made me want a guitar. Being a little kid seeing him on video countdown on Friday nights in the early 80's and in music magazines at the grocery store. Dood wrote some of the best riffs of the 80's, amazing player.

There was always something special about Ratt. They were one of the few bands of this era when each subsequent album released was stronger than the previous one. Guitarist Warren DiMartini is one of the real great players of his era. Also, this album SOUNDS like a thousand sticks of dynamite!! One of the 80's best songs.

Man the instrumental intro reminded me so much of Queensryche too, that bass and drums, idk. Van Halen I definitely hear in that too.

You really can't go wrong with any song off their greatest hits compilations. I'd personally like to see you react to "Wanted Man" or a somewhat deep cut in "Eat Me Up Alive". For the latter, RATT were well past their prime, the album was forgettable, but that track is 🔥.

“Way Cool Jr.” It’s got a bit of a different vibe to it, still upbeat, but guitar hook that opens the song is pretty cool. Maybe a little bluesy, maybe?
