Perception I believe. Usually that dot means there's an object nearby that can be picked up. Never thought to game the system by dropping an item to force the dot to show up to use it as an aim point.

@@BullsMahunny literally not possible because so many things change your point of aim, down to what gun you're using, barrel length, grip being used, you can test this in the hidteout with elite perception because you can get the white dot to show up in the shooting range and hipfire and you'll see its 100% different with each gun and never lines up perfectly

Oh by the way: @stankRat_ did you by any chance rat my mate and me on woods within the last 2 days at any point? xD We were absolutely surprised by lapua hits from outta nowhere at under sniper rock (heading up to spine rock). I died one hit an my mate after 3 leg hits (he laid down after the first hit ^^). :D

It’s a white dot that appears when there’s an item nearby that you can pick up. The higher your perception skill in the game, the further away you can be from the object to get the white dot. So that’s what that is. As far as the crosshair thing, idk for sure, but I don’t see how bsg would know ab an overlay. Either way, they have bigger problems to worry ab and probably wouldn’t care. It also wouldn’t really help that much due to the in game “imaginary crosshair” where your bullets actually go is constantly changing as you move around. So you could have a static crosshair, line up a shot perfectly, and still miss like 70% of the time depending on what you’re doing. Not worth the trouble of setting up imo (or the small risk that they could ban it in the future)
