RAVEN are that rare thing in music, true originals - cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal - a more intense live band does not exist on this planet!
Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England back in 1974 the brothers Gallagher cut their teeth playing the pubs & clubs until solidifying their line up in 1980 with drummer Rob Hunter.
The trio went on to release three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) inspiring every band of that era and beyond. Basically, without Raven you just would not have thrash/speed metal…. after all, the band did give Metallica & Anthrax their first tours!

I just turned 54 and after about 25 years of keeping my hair short for business I grew it out during the Bullshit Covid lockdowns. Windows down on the freeway lettin that shit blow!

Raven were the kings of NWOBHM not Maiden or Saxon. Hard rock, athletic rock, high velocity metal, stalwart metal etc. they were all of the above. They mop the floor with Motorhead!

Atlantic records trying to turn Raven into Twisted Sister with hockey gear was a huge mistake.

Twisted Sister took their image from the New York Dolls & no, Atlantic Records had nothing to do with Rob Wacko Hunter wearing hockey gear. You can do better. Learning is FUN!

@@boardrigger You're right but that's not the point. Atlantic records pushed the image instead of the music. I didn't say they invented it. Learning is FUN!
