Good review. It is always refreshing when a reviewer isn't intimidated by the size of a watch. Let's face it, these Ravens are not fashion pieces, they are tools. Use them as such.

I like big watches, especially when they are meant to be used for a specific function. I am new to diving, and haven't invested in a dive computer so a bigger watch is quite helpful.

I bought the Endeavor last year and even got an extra link for the bracelet so that it would fit more comfortably on my 9 3/4 wrist. The ETA 2824-2 keeps excellent time. The all black face and bezel without the date does look clean. I bought another microbrand without the date and I like it as well (Zelos), but the Raven is nicer. I live in Canada, so by the time the exchange and duty were added on it, the final cost was into the 4 digits, but I think it was worth it.

Thanks for a look at the Raven watches. I've also been an admire from afar, but have been impressed from what information I could gather and almost everyone's that has had the pleasure to own or at least have the watch for review has always had positive things to say. I was most interested in one of their models that has a pastel blue/teal dial color.. which I think sold out pretty fast.

Thanks for you opinion and the video. I’ve been eyeing the Venture II, but was hesitant until today. I just ordered the Venture II from the Raven Watches website using your discount code for 10% off!

My pick is the Endeavor. I like larger watches. I get a kick out of the Seiko fan-boys who dislike big watches, unless of course, it is a Seiko 😉

That lumed bezel is awesome! I liked the Venture II at first, but once I saw the fully lumed bezel, the Endeaver won!

I like the Venture II between the two but interesting that the bezel has lume application as that doesn't seem too common.

hey bruce, very cool looking watches you got there. I love the endeavor bracelet and clasp. by the way, the clasp has some sort of Glide-lock type of extension? that would be wonderful. the bezel clicking sound is so assuring that my new Steinhart OVM 42mm is even envious. ha ha ha the price is little bit on stiff side, but I am sure that the watches are better made than Steinhart that uses ETA2824 like Raven. wonderful review, Bruce. thanks a lot.
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
You bet Alex. Each clasp has a push button ratchet extension. Similar to what you see from strapcode bracelets. They are pretty thick though. I would personally prefer a locking fold over like your OVM

Nice watch (Endeavor) if you have the wrist size to match. Ceramic bezel, lumed bezel, apllied indices, extreme depth rating, ETA movement, metal bracelet = huge value. I was surprised when you said the prices and they are almost the same?! One characteristic that concerns me is the sharp protruding edge of the proud crystal; too exposed and asking to be chipped. So many good looking watches, especially in this style. How do you choose?

Trekker does look really cool. Would like to see Steve re-release the jubilee bracelet he did

The Raven is similar to the Alpina Alpiner 4 you just reviewed. But the smaller size is definitely a huge advantage IMO. Are you going to to an in depth review of the Raven? Would love some more info on the bracelet. Edit; The Endeavor has a Breitling Superocean Heritage II 42 feel to it. Would probably look nice on that type of mesh bracelet

Sorry I mailed them back today. The bracelets are solid and put together with screw pins. The clasps are very bulky and have a push button expansion system to them. They feel as solid as the rest of the watches

@hanknova77715 жыл бұрын
I noticed that you didn't focus on the bracelets at all in this video. The first diver you showed looked to have a lot of play and space between the links. I'd like to hear more about accuracy and reliability of the movements, as well.
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. The Endeavor has a president style bracelet (although each link is shorter than a Rolex design) with screw pins and a big milled out clasp. The clasp carries some perlage work on the folding section. There is some lateral flex and give to the bracelet but nothing off-putting. The Venture II has a oyster style bracelet also with screw pins and a milled clasp but no perlage work. Each will have a ratcheting extension system similar to what you would find on a strapcode. Both use ETA 2824-2 movements that you cannot see through metal casebacks. Accuracy when I had these for the week was about 6 seconds variance per day. The 2824 is a good movement and I'm glad Steve went with those over cheaper options.

Nice watches but pricey. If I was to pick one I would spend my money on Alpina Alpiner 4 blue face and don’t forget the Phoibos divers at about $230. Just my opinion. The market is getting very saturated with lots of great dive watches.

True that, I need to get a better mic and put up some sound dampening panels. Everything is a hard surface right now
