Love Splat, sometimes I wonder if he can only see 50% of the screen though. Lolol. Like he asks questions about things the game literally told him about how they work and then is like, “how does this work???” Still gives the best content!!

@@hal900x The fact that a lot of "Let's Play" or first look content creators do this almost makes me think it is deliberate. @Jedi_Vigilante
@Jedi_Vigilante Жыл бұрын
@@kalzekdor I get that, and I definitely understand. With Splatt I would even accept that more freely, because he is actually narrating as he plays in most cases. A lot of other content creators do voice-over though. Meaning that they record their gameplay then talk over it during the editing process rather than recording their live speech while playing. Seeing as "Fail ads" are a real thing, I can't help but think that some of the content creators try to use similar psychology deliberately to increase sales of the games they are showing off or at least drive greater participation in their channels.

I would say more games use space for jump than for dodge. Tons of games use CTRL, SHIFT, ALT or double direction press to dodge. Games that use space for dodge generally dont have a jump at all.

So, historically interrested nordic country dweller here: "Utlagi" is simply old norse for "Outlaw". Which just goes to show that old Norse had a bigger influence on modern english than most people nowadays would think. The Normandy region of France is named such since that's one of the places outside the nordic lands that the Nordmandi (Northmen) settled.

That first grievance is quite grievous. Having to "Sign In" like an MMO, for a single player game? Is this also always online too? :/ And there's a demo timer once you get into the world. Looking at Systemic Reaction™'s past projects, their latest project Second Extinction is apparently a data parasite according to the first negative Steam review I came across. I'm assuming this game does the same (that's why you have to sign in I'm guessing and the always-online requirement?) With those negative gripes aside, the art design is striking, the gameplay borrows a lot from games (AC: Valhalla, Dark Souls, Rogue-card-likes) and seems to put it together well, I hope character customization is in the full release.

Yep, the overall aesthetic along with the movement styles also remind me of Dragon's Dogma. The exit from the tutorial cave onto the white marble(?) with the path to the right kinda reminds me of that area of Bitter Black Isle when you first step into that courtyard area with the stairs descending to the right. Glad that (from what I've read) Dragon's Dogma 2 is green lit and in development now. Supposed to be much larger than the first game since the lead dev said they wanted a lot more, but didn't have the time or budget for more than Gran Soren and its surroundings.

Keybind was my major gripe with the game as well. I rebound it to Space=dodge, alt=jump, shift=sprint. C to block still feel wrong but... eh, the demo was just 1h long so, I used dodge most of the time anyway. I personally didn't really like the infinite spamming dodge. Block has a sort of "HP" but dodge is just an infinite amount. I'm not a fanatic of souls-like games but there should be some limitation, like X number of dodges that slowly recharge or something like that.
