As a ravens fan, I would love for teams to double OBJ. Bateman usually does good when he’s healthy, it would give Zay more room to produce, and Mark Andrews in single coverage is a death wish

I actually don’t blame EDC. I blame Greg Roman for having a very unfriendly system for WRs and relied far more on RBs and TEs, and I blame Harbaugh for being stubborn and loyal and keeping Roman around for a couple years too long. EDC gave Lamar plenty of weapons that weren’t WRs and still drafted 6 WRs anyways (7 now with Zay) since Lamar became the starter in 2019. I understand him taking accountability because ultimately it does fall on him but he built the team around the system in place and now that the system has finally changed he’s changed his strategy accordingly. Ravens have never ever really been the team that makes a huge splash play for a WR like Bills did with Diggs and Eagles did with Brown that’s just not how they’ve ever operated, it’s not an EDC issue Ozzie was the same way but it appears the over 2 decade long philosophy mindset has finally changed.

Honestly, the Lion's share of the blame goes to John Harbaugh, because the issues came down mainly to two guys: Greg Roman and Steve Saunders the S&C Coach. Both of whom Harbaugh kept 2-3 years too long. It defeats the purpose of DeCosta drafting WRs in the first round if you're just going to toss them into the least WR-Friendly offense in the league.

People at first will not double OBJ he is coming off a major knee injury, whos had numerous multiple injuries on his knees. If OBJ shows he is still OBJ, where he can still cut quickly, still stack and have the getaway speed etc. than they will start doubling him and then what they said would be true. But if OBJ is a shell of himself than Zay and Bateman better show up as the first rounders they were drafted as...(Bateman showed flashes before the injury)

Mark" Mandrews" their TE has been doubled or tripled covered since their WRs have been poor. OBJ there forces the defense to play safe more often then not and gets Mark, OBJ and Rashod easy targets

Teams aren't gonna double an OBJ coming off a second ACL tear who didn't play for a year. They're gonna double Mandrews which means OBJ, Bateman and Flowers could all see some good action. If any of those guys really take off, then maybe they start getting double-teamed. And Andrews will still get plenty of targets, along with Isaiah Likely. What I most hope for is Bateman to just last even the majority of the season. If he can get over 800 yards, which is his career total in two seasons, then I'd be happy. If OBJ can give us 650 yards plus and 6 TDs plus, that would be great. Flowers doesn't need to go off this year but I could see him be used like how I and a lot of Ravens fans wanted Duvernay to be used, on jet sweeps and motion in the backfield. Duvernay sweeps were big time yardage plays last year, the 10 times it was run. Its a lot of mouths to feed so it'll be interesting to see how the offense operates

Mark Andrews is being slept on here. JK when healthy led the leauge in yards per carry. I lowkey think saying double OBJ is kind of not the play tbh. Zay will break you over the top, Mark Andrews is a route wizard, they have a three headed dragon in LJ, JK and Bus like this offense they built could actually be terrifying. Their new OC is known for starting that ground and pound and then take the top off the defense. The Ravens actually are contenders in my eyes at this point. More so now then ever before.

They tried to sign juju he went to the chiefs for less money. They tried to trade for amari he said no and went to cleveland. They went after hopkins and diggs and both of them said no. Its not like the Ravens didnt try. All of this was reported by Ian rapoport too for all the people who think this is a lie.

In defence of the ravens they have spent a lot of very high draft picks on WR since he became the starter. And they can’t attract big names in FA because they have been a run first team.

Baltimore has alot of mouths to feed in the receiving game as long as everyone stays healthy. If teams double obj then tht leaves Andrew's a top 3 pass catching TE, Batemen who was looking great till injury and now flowers who to me looks like one of the last guys of the lot u want try tackling after the catch. Thts not including a nice backfield with Dobbins and Edward's, along with Lamars legs. Alot mismatches and headaches for other teams. If this offense can live up to it potential then amazing things can happen
