I love how Ravi never looks down on people. He is always sincere in his comments and even with his level of intellect and wisdom, he is not full of himself. People need to remember that not everyone understands Christianity in its entirety. To throw a bunch of godly verses from the Bible at someone and say "there's your answer it's that simple, take it" will not help them. If that were the case, Jesus who has every right to do so or lay commands, would have, but he didn't. He taught them using wisdom and parables. In that way, he was able to guide them with love and kindness by giving them information they could understand and relate to, from a godly perspective Modern man requires more than parables. By offering a book that can speak to us on a topic we don't know enough about, will be the intellectual understanding we need and once we have clarity, we can take comfort and strength in God. Ravis answer was diplomatic and stops anyone who is not religiously orientated from turning off. If they don't want the the the second part of his advice, the godly side of it, then at the very least, they have been guided to some form of material that can help them in their struggle

Not that he needs me to come to his defense but it disappoints me to hear some people say Ravi is a sellout, that the answer here is to just slap people with the Bible and go on thinking you’re spreading the Word. It just that attitude that drives so many people away from the Christian Faith. You say we should do as Christ would do? Well then love them where they’re at not where you think they ought to be. You trivialize the magnitude of the grip sin has on many people and it’s pure ignorance to say just stop sinning because the Bible says so. We as Christians need to show true compassion by meeting people in their sin and loving them so they know they aren’t alone. And then help guide them on the right path. We are all sinners. We all fall short of God’s perfection. It’s too easy to just sit back, recite a couple of lines of scripture and then call it a day. Get out of your comfort zone and really reach out to people as if their soul was at stake. Oh wait, it is.

To be honest, talking about this is not hard at all. The only reason why it is hard is because the person trying to explain it is trying to balance between Scripture and PC.

In a previous presentation under the subject "Is God okay with people being transgender?" Ravi gave an illustration about Elisha and Naaman. This is recorded in 2 kings 5. I don't know where Ravi got that conversation from but it is not in that chapter. At least not in the Bible. Then no one can make any comment after. To think what these people from these universities are doing to the Bible to promote their agenda is a total disgrace.

Putting intercourse aside and just thinking about someone who wants to change their gender. First of all, there was one thing that God created and He said it was "not good"..... "for man to be alone". God is a Trinity after all. Only a person gifted with celibacy should be alone. Secondly, God is neither male nor female. The only way we as humans determine gender is by looking between a babies legs. (I know it can get more complicated than that though)..... God doesn't have legs and He doesn't have any of the parts that we would recognize as determining gender. Jesus did create a male body that He would inhabit... but that was because of the culture of the day. Therefore, being in the image of God, has nothing to do with gender. It's something else, like our eternal soul, our regenerated spirit, our intrinsic sacred value. Thirdly, when our bodies are resurrected to heaven...... we will all be gender neutral..... we will be non gender like God. There is no "giving in marriage" in heaven as the Bible says. So we won't need any of the parts that have anything to do with making babies. (my own personal belief is that the wonderful food that God has prepared for us to eat in Heaven will be totally consumed by our perfect bodies and there will also be no waste) We will still be who we are, as our soul is eternal.... and our previous life gender won't matter. So let's just agape love people who are trying to find themselves, let them work it out and call them by the name they want. Let's be there for them when they are depressed. These bodies of ours are so temporal and in the end, before we come alive again, the only thing that matters is that they have believed in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, that He died to forgive our sins, that He rose again, conquering death for Him and His chosen ones, and He will come again to take us home.

I'm reading all these comments about people saying that Ravi answered the question very well. It's such a shame that professing Christians have no discernment and are still on milk and not solid foods when it comes to scripture (Heb 5:12-14). When we don't know what the Bible says, we'll believe anything someone else says. I appreciated the work that Ravi has done in bringing many to Christ. Why use other books to decide whether transgerism is godly? Just go straight to the bible. Being transgender is not easy at all, but it also goes against God's natural design. In Genesis or in the Bible as said God created male and female. Then how do you say in the Bible but in Matthew chapter 19 vs 12, Jesus says " Some eunuchs are born this way. Some eunuchs are made by men. Some eunuchs may renounce marriage in the kingdom of God. He who may accept this can do so. "? Jesus never contempts or says eunuchs(unfertilized men that also equivalent to intersex, transgender etc) is a sin. Jesus accepts and loves the same.

If you are Lgbt and fighting against God because you think he hates you then you have not accepted God in any way, shape or form. For God is absolute perfect love and it is not selfish love like the flesh of the body. God in his love gives us and saved us through his Son, Jesus Christ. God does not condemn people but loves them. How much more will God love you if you follow him. Ask and you shall recieve and even for any catholic or Christian or Jew the road to God is a difficult one. Gender dysphoria is very complex. I wish Christians would take the time to research before judging or rebuking. As a layman that has been exposed to some neuroscience this is what I have come to understand: The male and female brains are distinctly different. One major difference is that the female brain has more white matter which is actually the axons of nerve cells I.e the grey matter. This insures strong interconnectedness between different parts of the brain and explains why women can multi task or be very self aware. There are other differences too. In utero the fetus's brain will either be masculised or feminized by the hormones the body of the mother releases this process is controlled by epigenetic switches. So a person could have a feminized brain but have a male body. It is very possible. There was a small research project that was conducted I think in Sweden/Switzerland where the brains of deceased trans females were compared to those of deceased females and was found to be the same. Also there are androgen deficient syndromes which can cause a male to present as a female. I.e they have female genitalia but genetically they are male. There are so many facets to this. There people born with external female genitalia but have pseudo testes internally producing testosterone and causing clear masculine characteristics in a female. The South African runner Caster Simenya is a prime example of this. She appears to be male but is actually female. Let's just learn to love people and help them to know the Lord as well as His love for them. He is the creator and He loves us all unconditionally.

I agree that this is one really hard topic to discuss on the point of general yet at the same time individual sensitivity should emotions be carefully addressed and considered towards the involved party. What i want to highlight though is as much as i want to consider their claim of biased judgements finding any answer from a Bible related Christian offensive, insensitive and insulting..
