The crossbow went together quickly and the general fit and finish is a bit above what I expected for the price. kzfaq.infoUgkx5B43Qabqt1HedUJyfEqxiwBCfaooIH52 The adjustable stock is a little loose. I had an issue when I tried to cock the bow for the first time with the safety on. The string set in the trap box, held just enough to build up enough tension to rip the string out of my hands when it let go. No significant damage was done, and once I got it sighted in, I wrecked a couple bolts by sending one straight down the shaft of the first. I'm holding ~2" groups at around 50 yards, and I'm not an expert by any means. Best part is that they supply all the replacements parts you may ever need

Just seems like ten point copied Ravin. Any decent engineer can take an existing product and duplicate it. Ravin's engineers thought outside the box and developed an awesome crossbow.

Both are incredible xbows, but the accudraw and accudraw pro for that matter are incredibly archaic compared to the ravins cock/decock system.

@douglasborgaro6801
@douglasborgaro6801 5 жыл бұрын
The faster the bow is the higher quality the parts must be and the better the engineering there must be. This all equals higher price. Accuracy is still most important. If you get a bow that does all of that, you’re looking at between $1500-2500. Oh wait, Raven!
@ravenfeather7087

I shoot an MXB-400 (approx. 400 fps) that has thousands of shots through it. It will still be shooting, if someone puts an arrow in it and pulls the trigger, long after I'm dead and gone. It's a well built bow. I don't own a Ravin but have looked at more than one and shot one and it too appears to be very well built. If Ravin has a weak point it's the acute angle of the string which some people think makes it necessary to replace strings more frequently than they like. Which is not a big deal in my opinion. It's inexpensive and easily done. I replace the string on my Mission almost every year and consider it normal maintenance.

Simply show and tell. Like watching someone shoot a rifle. Bang. The gun went off but only after some footage of the shooter squinting into a scope. BANG! We did it fellers - we can go home now. Very seldom does a retailer provide any usable, reliable information gained by actually testing a product. In this case the only usable information was obtained with the chronograph combined with the arrow weights. Everything else was fluff. They have neither the skill to or interest in actually testing products.

You know they both sounded pretty quiet but I just don't like the idea that TenPoint got a copy everybody first off they wanted the reverse cam technology so they bought out Horton so they could get all the patents on that make their own bowl with Horton's technology and there's now they've turned around and tried to copy the Raven crossbow in which is probably one of the most advanced crossbows I've ever seen how it shoots and how it operates I mean as you can see TenPoint had to do a little bit here in a little bit there different so they wouldn't be sued but it's obvious you can see where they got the idea from the front end is a raven and you're going to get a little more penetration that the TenPoint Arrow Wade 400 50 grains compared to a 400 grain Arrow it's going have more penetration because there was heavier but I guess me being a bowhunter I like to shoot around a 400 grain Arrow in order to get the speed out of the ten point crossbow you have to shoot a 370 grain Arrow and which I think is too life I lite I like the idea that the Raven crossbow gives you really good speed with a 400 grain Arrow and I know some people want to call a crossbow bolt and an arrow I will always call them arrows because that's what they are I don't know where they come up with the bolt thing I think that might have took place in medieval times when they were shooting maybe a 8 to 10 in all metal Bolt out of the old crossbows
@douglasborgaro6801
@douglasborgaro6801 5 жыл бұрын
Better penetration? Unfair. As we all know a heavier arrow is gonna penetrate a bit deeper. If table were turned, the opposite would be seen, but then, if both arrows were the same weight, the faster one would penetrate deeper

Unless you intent to hunt in Africa with animals who are extremely large boned and have thick hides like cape buffalo why does anyone hunting whitetail deer need one of these xbows? It's like to bringing a .50cal rifle to hunt squirrels.

Not true our uninformed friend . Contrary to what some believe, The crossbow does not make you a cup of coffee while shooting a deer. There is still skill , Control, and discipline involved in shooting game animals with a crossbow. It is certainly different than a vertical bow. Nobody argues that. It is however, an excellent game hunter with great accuracy. Everyone must dance to their own tune.

Ten Point's been building the same over-priced bows for the last 700 years and they just wish they had engineers who could think outside of the box. Instead they've spent their time making people buy their special omni nocks to make even more money off the suckers who want to show off the best bow money can buy (even if it ain't - they like to be 'sclusive' ya know"). And, aren't they the people who built a bow with an unsafe trigger system and refused to admit it and do a recall like an honest company would? Or was that some other company? I must be wrong. Must have been a different company. And honest company like Ten Point wouldn't do that. Vastly over-rated in my opinion and always have been. And it now with their copy-cat backward limb bows (Jim Kempf's hard work and genius) now the geniuses at Ravin (and those who conceptualized their bows) appears always happy to copy someone else's products and genius.

@The Tracker, that is so right! A company that obligate the customer to buy their special & unique products because you cannot use a generic product, is pretty truculent, they anchor the clients to the brand just because there is not other option and not because they are very satisfied with the results, without matter if you want to use another generic products. They Know that people will not bet with the devil, using -not allowed products- with a great possibility to lose the warranty, specially if a clients pays $2000 - $2500 for a crossbow. I hope Ravin could fix this, and win the loyalty of the customers for the quality of their products, and not for the clamps on your hands. Who knows if Raving is using good-used materials from another cheap-scrap companies to manufactures their arrows? No one, at least none from outside the manufacturing facility. For me, both crossbows are nice, 90% of a cool hunt depends on the experience, judgement and ability of the owner.
@douglasborgaro6801
@douglasborgaro6801 5 жыл бұрын
Crybaby? You must like your Ten points. Nothing wrong with that. Let’s not get too brand selective. I love the Ravin! It’s innovative and an awesome performer. I would pick the Ravin every time over a ten point. That doesn’t say that Ten point isn’t great. It is what it is.
@ravenfeather7087
@ravenfeather7087 5 жыл бұрын
@@JustMeNoOther Couldn't tell which bow you were talking about. Both the Ravin and Ten Point manufacturers require certain components be of their own manufacture or a product manufactured according to their specs. As does at least one other major manufacturer. I personally don't view that as a negative and in fact if Ravin produced a bow and arrow combination that produced guaranteed 0.5 MOA groups and specified a specific (their) arrow, and charged a fortune for it, I'd be the first in line to buy the arrows. Besides, requiring use of proprietary products keeps people who think they know more than educated engineers and manufacturers from messing with their products and crying like babies when something breaks.

I wouldn’t have gone with neither one of them. They are both over priced poc! Their speeds are crap. I shot my Excalibur Bulldog 440 through the chronograph with a 350gn bolt and I was getting speeds of 443FPS and the bow is rated 440FPS. Yeah. The Excalibur has wider limbs but who cares? It doesn’t hinder anything and you can’t just change your strings in the field with any of the Ravin’s or the 10Points like you can with the Excalibur. You also don’t need to bring your bow to a shop GOD forbid one of your limbs crack under pressure and they need to be replaced. My right limb “delaminated” because I accidentally “dry fired” it when I was first learning how to change my string and the stringer that I was using broke on me and the limbs smacked the concrete floor inside my house. That was my fault but I called Excalibur and they sent me new limbs and I was able to install them myself. Since then, I’ve had nothing but good luck with it. It still shoots true and I didn’t have to reset the scope.
